Su Causeway and Broken Bridge belong to one of the ten scenic spots of West Lake, with Broken Bridge on Bai Causeway and Di Yang in Su Causeway, Bai Causeway and in West Lake. There are three main dikes in Hangzhou West Lake, namely, Su Causeway, Bai Causeway and Yang Gongdi. The shortest of the three dikes is Bai Causeway. Every winter, broken bridges, broken snow and wonders attract photographers to come and shoot. This is also the place where White Snake and Xiaoqing met Xu Xian after flooding Jinshan. Su Causeway, a tourist attraction in West Lake District of Hangzhou, formerly known as Sugong Dike, is a tree-lined levee that runs through the north and south scenic spots of West Lake, located in West Lake District of Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. Su Causeway was formed in the fourth year of Yuan You in the Northern Song Dynasty 1089. When the poet Su Dongpo was appointed as the magistrate of Hangzhou, he dredged the West Lake and built it with dredged mud, which was developed in later generations. Hangzhou people named it Su Causeway to commemorate Su Dongpo's achievements in managing the West Lake.

Introduction of West Lake Broken Bridge

The West Lake Broken Bridge is located at the water dividing point between Beili Lake and Waixi Lake in Hangzhou, with one end spanning Beishan Road and the other end connected with Bai Causeway. It is said that this broken bridge was built as early as the Tang Dynasty. It was called Fuqiao in Song Dynasty and Duanjia Bridge in Yuan Dynasty. Among many bridges in the West Lake, it is the most famous. The name Broken Bridge comes from the Tang Dynasty.

The origin of its name, Gushan Road is broken here, hence the name, Duanjia Bridge is short for broken bridge, homophonic broken bridge. The story of China folk love legend "The Legend of the White Snake" happened here. Legend has it that White Snake and Xu Xian met at the broken bridge, adding romance to the scenery of the broken bridge. The existing broken bridge was rebuilt in 194 1 year, and was rebuilt in 1950. There is a monument pavilion in the northeast of the bridge, and there is a broken snow monument inside.
