Xu Yongling wrote about Lei Qiang. Do you have to see it? Lei Qiang, a warm-blooded man, was born for "Ten Extinctions".

This is the first flight test pilot of Lei Qiang -J-10 fighter written by xu teacher. Before reading Lao Xu's article, I would like to introduce a short paragraph: I had a deal with Lei Qiang once. In 2008, at Zhuhai Air Show, the J-10 fighter made an air show, which surprised everyone. The pilot at that time was Yan Feng.

On behalf of the World Military of Xinhua News Agency, I will give a telephone interview to Yan Feng. Yan Feng is actually a very individual pilot. He asked me: how do you prove that you are the world military of Xinhua News Agency? Shit, I said, look, my phone number starts with 6307, and this is the number of Xinhua News Agency. But Yan Feng can't trust me yet. My name is Lei Qiang-I have had contact with Lao Lei before, and he knows that I am a real journalist. Lei Lao immediately called Yan Feng, and Feng Yancai accepted my interview. Only then did he have an article in World Military: Yan Feng: Air Force Frontline.

Ok, let's take a look at Lao Xu's "Old Lei".

Lei Qiang, a soldier who needs to look up, is not only because his battlefield is in the sky.

Lei Qiang, an iron-blooded man, is getting closer and closer, and his blood ambition is becoming more inspirational.

This article is the painstaking work of Lei Qiang's close comrade-in-arms and Air Force test pilot Xu Yongling. He insisted on using iron blood to describe Lei Qiang, because he admired this military character. ...

Born to destroy ten

During a teaching tour, I sent a questionnaire to the test pilot. One of the questions is, what do you think is the most important quality for a pilot? Test pilots have some answering skills and some answering knowledge. Lei Qiang's answer is only two words: blood!

Iron and blood, yes, this is Lei Qiang's character. Looking at the answer sheet, I seem to have returned to the days of J 10 test flight. At that time, Lei Qiang and I were in the first flight group of J 10. Similar to the astronaut team, the first flight team is also strictly closed training. In the days before the first flight of J 10, the team repeated boring and intense work every day-study, discussion, research, experiment and high-intensity physical exercise.

Unlike space flight, there is no "launch window" limit for the first flight of military aircraft, and the test pilot waits for the "state" of the aircraft in nervous preparation. For a brand-new fighter that has never been in the sky, the "state" of the plane is the key to the success or failure of its first flight. The aviation industry has very strict requirements for the "first flight state" of aircraft, which is also the reason why the first flight in the world aviation history rarely fails. For a new plane full of unknowns, although modern aviation technology has enough ground test means, it still needs a lot of professionals to work hard to master the first flight state. Every time there is an abnormal situation in the joint test, debugging and sliding of the system, it will go through a complicated process of fault recurrence, fault mechanism judgment, fault elimination and retest. The closer to the first flight, the more tests of "test pilot in the ring". To put it in the most popular terms, it is of great benefit for the test pilot to be familiar with the aircraft cockpit by sitting in the real aircraft cockpit to participate in the test. However, the exam is tiring and boring after all. In order to complete a display system test, the test pilot has to work from 10 in the afternoon until 4 am the next day.

The first flight has been postponed three times. The first flight was postponed for the last time because the plane leaked three drops of oil under the skin. If a mature plane encounters such a situation, it only needs to continue to observe whether it leaks again, but for the first flight, it can undoubtedly be let go. Nowadays, "three drops of oil" has become synonymous with the professionalism of aviation people. For this little doubt, the technicians fought for six days and nights, and the problem was finally found. For aviation people who require zero defects, the first flight is to be foolproof. China is the fifth country in the world to independently develop three generations of fighters. In the 1970s, the cold war was not over. With the development of fly-by-wire flight control technology and integrated avionics technology, the third generation fighter was born. The famous American F- 16, the Soviet MIG -29 and Su -27 programs were exposed because of two blurred satellite photos, and Lamin-1 and Lamin -2 were named by the confused West. It is not difficult to see that the exposure of a new type of fighter in the cold war era is tantamount to a major political event. Today, the fog hanging over the third-generation fighters has long since dispersed. However, the tragic accident of the third-generation fighter flight test is still fresh in people's memory. F- 16, Mirage 2000, Su -27 and JAS-39 all had serious accidents during the development of flight test. High-tech, like an unsolvable paradox, not only brings high performance to modern military aircraft, but also casts a shadow over flight test. This shadow also hangs over the hearts of China airlines, which is an invisible pressure. As the first test pilot of the new aircraft, Lei Qiang is the person who is under the most pressure.

The estimated date of the first flight. However, with the approach of the first flight, everyone's heart in the flight test team is complicated. Long-term great mental stress and high-load work make them both tired and excited. As a test pilot, Lei Qiang can only adjust his state with a regular pace of life. On the day of the first flight, as usual, the flight test team met together to coordinate the first flight procedure that has been repeated countless times again. Everyone has their own division of labor. In fact, Lei Qiang was not alone in his first flight. He embodies the strength of his comrades. At this moment, what he needs most is the support of his comrades. At the end of the meeting, the test pilots held hands, silently and forcefully raised a refueling gesture, and then took their positions.

The weather on the first flight was not ideal, but the order for the first flight has been issued. Lei Qiang boarded the plane "armed to the teeth", and the people who participated in the first flight at the airport were already ready. Recalling the scene at that time, Lei Qiang said: "It's fake that I wasn't nervous when I took the plane for the first time, and my heart beat more than 150 times per minute, but I warned myself to control it." . At this point, the flight test commander walked up to Lei Qiang and shook hands with him, but his eyes turned away with tears. Ray bravely boarded the plane and checked its condition for the last time. At this point, the class teacher who got off the plane gave two thumbs up and stared at Lei Qiang with encouragement, and Lei Qiang's heart suddenly calmed down. This is the so-called professional habit: as soon as the test pilot sits in the cockpit of the plane, the state is discovered. Lei Qiang routinely checks, reports and starts cars. The roar of the engine rang out from the airport. Lei Qiang closed the hatch, checked the plane again before sliding out, and then gave his left thumb to the mechanic-"Everything is fine". The plane slowly slid into the runway and stopped. Check the engine, movable steering column and confirm the takeoff status.

"The plane is normal, request to take off."

Commander Tang issued a take-off instruction: "You can take off!"

The plane taxied quickly and accelerated. Lei Qiang glanced at the instrument display in the cockpit and then at the head-up display. The plane left the land smoothly at speeds of 200 km/h, 250 km/h and 286 km/h, which was the most suspenseful moment of the first flight. The performance of the aircraft has been repeatedly verified on the ground and will be tested at this moment.

Afterwards, Lei Qiang recalled that the landing was very smooth. When the plane reached the predetermined altitude, it turned as planned, which made it more sensitive, but the maneuverability of the plane could not be compared with that of the second-generation fighter. Everything is going according to plan, and the plane accompanying the flight photography is inseparable. The plane is accelerating, decelerating, turning and lifting, and everything is normal. Ready to join the route, Lei Qiang found that the landing oil was 200 kilograms more than planned. After the request was approved, Lei Qiang flew the new plane to the airport again to control the best landing oil.

"The decline of the plane is too elegant. This is an unprecedented experience with smooth trajectory and accurate control. " Talking about the famous landing, Lei Qiang was still excited: "The landing trajectory of the plane is exactly the same as the simulation, and the grounding of the plane was so light that I didn't notice it myself!"

Before the plane stopped, the airport boiled, and the new plane that tens of thousands of aviation people struggled for more than ten years finally made its first flight. Lei Qiang, who got off the plane, hugged his dear comrade-in-arms day and night, and tears of joy flowed freely.

Lei Qiang's life was sublimated at the moment when J 10 successfully made its first flight, and Lei Qiang became a hero in the eyes of aviation people. Someone exclaimed: Lei Johnson came to destroy ten!

Flying gene

Anyone who has seen Lei Qiang's air show is deeply impressed by his extraordinary flying skills. All kinds of difficult flying movements, even when viewed from the ground, will make the viewers sweat, but Lei Qiang on the plane is very relaxed and natural. As a test pilot, I feel that such people must have the characteristics of flying in their genes. In fact, Lei Qiang's father, Lei Yutian, is indeed an old-timer of China Air Force pilots. But Lei Qiang admits that he is not the best student in the aviation school, and he is not the first person to fly solo every time. However, his teacher Zhang Hong is optimistic about Lei Qiang. He said: Lei Qiang, you are flying material, because you have a natural blood that is not afraid of death. 1979, after graduating from aviation school, Lei Qiang came to the army, flew over 歼 6 and 歼 5, and was even selected by the performance team, but Lei Qiang chose to give up because his ideal was to be a fighter. When he came to the army, Lei Qiang showed his flying talent and completed all the difficult tactical courses in just two years. 198 1 year, Lei Qiang came to the front line in southern Xinjiang and became the youngest air force pilot at that time.

1983165438+10, China air force systematically selected test pilots for the first time. Just like National Southwest Associated University's modern science and technology to China, when it comes to the flight test history of China in the last 20 years of the 20th century, we can't help but mention these test pilots selected by 1983. Among them are the heroes of the "Flying Leopard" test flight: Lu Jun, Tan Shoucai and Yang; Qian Lin Xue, chief test pilot of China Academy of Engineering 歼 7E; The first generation of stable aircraft and aerial refueling test pilot Tang; Li Cunbao, the first generation delta wing spin test pilot. These test pilots, together with Lei Qiang, became the hero of the test flight of China's first three-generation fighter.

It may be accidental to choose Lei Qiang for the test flight, but Lei Qiang's success is the inevitable result of his persistent pursuit. When he first arrived at the test flight unit, Lei Qiang was still a "novice" who knew almost nothing about test flight. Seeing the heroic attitude of the test flight predecessors, the dazzling test flight data and the plane that he had never heard of, Lei Qiang, who once had full confidence in flying, suddenly felt at a loss. Gradually, Lei Qiang figured out an invisible thing from his predecessors. You can call it a mental or professional habit. In short, from Wang Ang, Huang Bingxin and other flight test heroes, Lei Qiang saw a realm that ordinary people can't reach, that is, persistent pursuit of career and conscientious attitude towards work. The process of flight test is also a learning process. From the uneasiness when flying a new plane for the first time to the calmness when undertaking difficult subjects; From data analysis after each test flight to writing a flight test paper alone; With more and more aircraft types tested by Lei Qiang, his flight test technology is becoming more and more perfect. Although Lei Qiang has not independently undertaken the first flight of a new aircraft, he has become one of the young test pilots with the most types of aircraft, the most difficult flying subjects and the most weapons when the J 10 aircraft began to select test pilots. 199 1, 歼 10 test pilot team was established, and Lei Qiang was fortunate to be a member of the general test flight team.

At that time, there was no test pilot flying by telex in China, and J 10 was completely unfamiliar to both researchers and test pilots. As a complex system process, the development of J 10 is complex and long, and all the work is complicated, including aircraft design, system testing, plan management and personnel training. This is the first time in the history of China's military aircraft development that test pilots fully participate in the design. A lot of system research and development, scheme demonstration and ground testing all need the participation of test pilots. In order to design a high-level aircraft, test pilots must have a broad vision, good professionalism and open thinking ability. In a sense, the level of test pilots determines the technical level of the aircraft and trains high-quality test pilots.

Studying abroad for many years

1June, 1993, it is timely to carry out flight test technical cooperation with aviation developed countries. Together with Lu Jun, Lei Qiang became the first batch of test pilots in the technical exchange of China International Flight Test. The four-month flight test training in Russia changed Lei Qiang's life. Flying with the top Russian test pilots, Lei Qiang realized the high realm of test flight. Lei Qiang said that he admired Sasha and Dzheniya most, not Kovachel. Their professionalism, accurate judgment and actions in the spin test flight are perfect. In the later test flight, Lei Qiang and the instructor cooperated again and became comrades fighting side by side. And I had the honor to participate in the flight test technical training of Su -27 with Lei Qiang. After working with Lei Qiang for four months, I really understood Lei Qiang's persistence in test flight. His clear and detailed notes became the object of my copying after class; His chic style has become my pursuit; And his courage and courage are slowly infecting our flight test successors. This influence is subtle. At that time, for the sake of secrecy, the Russians did not allow us to take the plane information home. In order to copy the cockpit map, I drew a sketch during class, and went back to the dormitory to draw an accurate cockpit map with a bottle cap and comb. This picture was appreciated by Lei Qiang, and Lei Qiang copied the drawings and collected them. His affirmation gave me great motivation, and his concentration and enthusiasm gradually became my professional habit.

With the deepening of reform and opening up, China's aviation technology exchange is not limited to Russian, but also includes exchanges with the West. During the period of 1997, Lei Qiang went to Britain to receive a one-month short-term flight test training for stabilizers, which was the first time that China test pilots really got in touch with the digital fly-by-wire flight control system before the J 10 flight. Stabilized aircraft, also known as air simulator, uses a small transport plane to simulate modern fighters, which seems incredible to outsiders. In fact, for the fly-by-wire stabilized aircraft, the control rate and response of the aircraft can be adjusted by the flight control system. As long as the corresponding parameters are input, the flying quality characteristics of various aircraft can be simulated realistically. The role of the stabilizer is not limited to this, but its more important role is to carry out flight control system test research, which can complete various flight tests such as oscillation, PIO and instability that are difficult to achieve on ordinary aircraft. In this training, Lei Qiang experienced some unconventional flying actions such as crosswind landing, plane drift and PIO. Lei Qiang said: "Stabilizing the flight test training of the aircraft has enabled him to truly understand what the flight control system is, understand the influence of the control rate on the flight quality of the aircraft, and also let him master the flight test technology of how to deal with various dangerous dynamics in the flight test."

Pilot expert

In the hearts of aviation fans, test pilots are highly skilled pilots. Completing the first flight and various difficult and high-risk flight test subjects is the whole of the flight test. In fact, in a sense, test pilots are also engineers. In the process of aircraft research and development, test pilots should participate in the design, test and evaluation as engineers and technicians, and analyze the test data curve with them. They are not only actors, but also thinkers, operators and discoverers. They should have rich knowledge and keen professional vision, be good at finding system defects in various tests, find out the causes of defects and failures, and put forward suggestions for improvement. For a complex modern fighter, it is not a simple flight platform, but a complex machine. In addition to the aircraft body, there are power plant, flight control system, take-off and landing device, flight protection and life-saving system, man-machine environment and display system, avionics system, weapon control system and other auxiliary electrical systems. For a newly designed aircraft, the difficulty lies not in the complexity of the design and manufacture of each system, but in the integration of each system to achieve high efficiency, comprehensiveness and coordination. Small aircraft is a complex system, and the criterion for judging the quality of the system is the pilot's comprehensive use efficiency. Therefore, the pilot becomes the most important judge of aircraft design index. This job is not easy for a test pilot. If you don't have rich knowledge and flight test experience, you will often come to the wrong conclusion only by evaluating the aircraft from your own habits. The test pilot participated in the design, which was meticulous and complicated. So many systems need multiple pilots to participate in design and testing. During the design test of the J 10 aircraft, Lei Qiang and I met almost every month, sometimes discussing the design scheme together, and sometimes testing the flight control system and avionics system together. What impressed me most was that in the crosswind landing ground test, even in the case of defective flight control rate, other test pilots rolled over and over again to lock the "plane" on the runway, but Lei Qiang always "stubbornly" controlled the plane to land on the runway. In fact, it's not just these that really admire Lei Qiang. After each test, Lei Qiang always gives an accurate evaluation of various control rates, finds out the design defects and puts forward suggestions for improvement. There are habits differences between foreign test pilots and China pilots in crosswind landing control. Therefore, the current version of the control rate is difficult for us to accept, and the control rate proposed according to our imagination can not adapt well to crosswind landing. Therefore, Lei Qiang proposed the crosswind landing technology with compound control, and optimized the software on this basis. In later experiments, pilots with different technical levels were able to complete crosswind landing after a short adaptation period.

The authority of the chief test pilot was not granted by others. In repeated experiments and system design demonstrations, Lei Qiang's professional quality has been recognized by the industry, and he has gradually established authority among test pilots, so Lei Qiang's voice has gradually gained weight in the industry. When there is a technical dispute, "what Lei Qiang said" has become the theoretical basis for many engineers. This seemingly strange phenomenon is actually a normal phenomenon in the engineering technology industry, because truly qualified experts often have relatively correct judgments and analysis. This level is the result of these experts' long-term "cultivation", because they pay more attention, work harder, think more and have more experience than ordinary people.

never give up

When it comes to Lei Qiang, we can't help but mention the spin test flight. Before 1990' s, due to the limitation of technical conditions at that time, the spin test flight of new domestic aircraft was always a restricted area. Who will break through this risky restricted area, Lei Qiang will take the lead. Starting from 1994, Lei Qiang was determined to break through the spin restricted area after completing the technical training of two aircraft systems from abroad. When training abroad, the foreign instructor asked: Why do you want to fly and spin? Aren't you afraid of death? We can give you a spin test. Lei Qiang replied: We are here to learn from you. If you dare to fly, we in China will certainly dare to fly. 1995 K-8 aircraft is about to be finalized, and the last thing left is the spin test course. K-8 aircraft is the first small advanced trainer developed by China. The spin dynamics of straight-wing aircraft is complex and difficult to grasp, and the spin risk is extremely high, but this is exactly the challenge that Lei Qiang is eager for. In order to find out the spin characteristics of the aircraft as much as possible, Lei Qiang repeatedly tried to enter various spins in the test flight. In more than 60 spin test flights, Lei Qiang entered more than 480 spins with a number far exceeding the outline, which not only overcame the difficulties of domestic aircraft spin test flights, but also trained many spin test pilots for the country.

If there is only one Lei Qiang in the flight test team, it is impossible to create the miracle of flight test of J 10. Lei Qiang spirit is radiating, or Lei Qiang is the representative of team spirit of test pilots. Speaking of which, Lei Qiang can't help mentioning one person-that is lujun, and lujun is Lei Qiang's favorite comrade-in-arms. They forged a profound friendship during the test flight of the J-7. During the spin training, they were the leaders of international cooperation in flight test technology in China, and were later elected as the chief test pilots of the first flight of J 10. Lu Jun may be the only competitor of Lei Qiang's maiden voyage, but it doesn't affect their friendship at all. Lei Qiang once said: If the army comes for the first flight, he has no complaints. 1994 in April, in Lei Qiang, I heard a bad news from China. The heroic Lu Jun gave his young life in a test flight, and Lei Qiang burst into tears. He told me personally that Lu Jun was his favorite China test pilot. Lu Jun impressed me the most, not only because he was my teacher, but also because his words-"drums don't need hammers" became the motto that inspired me to test my life.

When J 10 was about to complete its final test flight, Lei Qiang was about to be grounded. As comrades-in-arms, we always advised him not to fly high-intensity subjects, but every time there was a major task, Lei Qiang always did his duty. In September 2003, the J-J 10 test flight entered a tough battle, with aerial refueling, weapon test and high-intensity test simultaneously. Due to the shortage of manpower, everyone is worried about assigning tasks, because no one wants Lei Qiang to fly high-intensity subjects again. The sustained overload hovering of 8.6g overload is a hovering limit that has never been broken in China. Even young test pilots are incompetent. As the captain, Lei Qiang decided, "I'll fly." Before boarding the plane, he said that he must get the data successfully at one time, because high-intensity flight test is also harmful to the plane, and the risk of unsuccessful repeated flight is greater. I watched Lei Qiang take off in the tower, and Lei Qiang's confident report came from the radio again and again:

"Normal overload 9g!"

"Stable hovering 6.5g!"

"Oil quantity 1200, prepare for maximum overload hovering!"

"The hovering overload is 8.6g, and the timing starts!"

1 sec, 2 sec ...1sec, Lei Qiang once again set a great test flight record. Lei Qiang got off the plane and was sweating profusely. I asked with concern, "Brother Lei, what's the matter?"

Lei Qiang whispered to me, "It's a little dark." The so-called black is visual black, which is a normal physiological reaction to heavy overload. The test flight data came out soon, the overload continued, the data was accurate and the test flight was a great success!

At the beginning of 2006, the J 10 plane was decrypted, and Lei Qiang changed from a hero behind the scenes to the focus of the media. Lei Qiang was interviewed in the military column and the son of the East, and Lei Qiang on the screen was still passionate and wise. As ordinary enthusiasts, they can only understand the majestic posture and heroic brilliance of the J-10 plane through these clips, but only those who are engaged in this work can truly understand and appreciate the hardships paid by the test pilots and the difficulties encountered in the flight test. The test flight of J 10 has created countless firsts. As the first test pilot and chief test pilot of J 10, Lei Qiang is also the person who created the most firsts. These achievements were achieved not only because Lei Qiang was the chief, but also because of the bloodiness branded in Lei Qiang's bones.

Without iron and blood, there would be no Lei Qiang.
