How powerful are the ancient villages in Anhui at 30 degrees north latitude?

For many tourists, it is known that Huizhou ancient villages must be handed over to the west in Hongcun, but if you go to other counties in Huangshan, you will find that there are too many ancient villages worth exploring besides Hongcun. If the empty villages and uninhabited villages in Huizhou make people feel helpless about the loneliness of Huizhou ancient dwellings, then many ancient villages with long history stories will let you know how prosperous Huizhou used to be.

Today, we will take you to Xucun, located in Shexian County, Huangshan Mountain. Although this village is not as famous as Hongcun Xidi, its historical origin is as good as or even better than both. Xucun was founded in the Eastern Han Dynasty with a history of about 1800 years ago. At the end of the Tang Dynasty, Xu Shi's family moved here, and then slowly multiplied into a local clan, so it was later renamed Xucun.

Xu Cun has a long history, but two points are worth exploring: First, there are 48 scholars here, and the local style of writing is prosperous. One scholar, two scholars, three generations of Peking University students, four scholars and five doctors? . In addition, Huizhou ancient houses here are well preserved. From the Yuan Dynasty to the Republic of China, there were about two or three hundred ancient dwellings, and there were more archways, up to eight. It can be said that it is the best place for many people who like Huizhou architecture and photography. If I come to Xucun, I suggest that I must find a local tour guide, otherwise it will be a bit troublesome to understand the history and architecture of Xucun.

There are many archways in Xucun. You can see two archways when you enter the village. Memorial archway built in memory of Yan Xu, a political official of Huguang. The archway was built in the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, with four columns, three rooms and five floors, with a width of 8.8 meters and a height of 1 1 meter. You can see Wei when you enter the village. Standing at the entrance of the village, it is quite imposing.

In addition to the smallest archway, Xucun also has the largest archway, namely Shuangshou Chengen Square, which was built for Hui merchant Xu Shiqi. Xu Shiqi was the adoptive father of Guo Xu (then the second assistant of the Ming Dynasty), who lived10/0/years old, while his wife lived 103 years old, which was amazing at that time, so this double-life benefactor's workshop came into being.

Next to Shuangshou Chengen Square, Daguan Pavilion and Wumafang are well preserved. Wumafang was built during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty to commemorate the memorial archway built by Fujian official Xu Bosheng. Xu Bosheng can learn about it if he goes to Xucun. After all, there are several ancient houses worth visiting, and the first tomb shrine is related to this.

At the end of the tour, there is the most imposing Huizhou ancient residence in Dabangbo Xu Cun. From the gatehouse and the threshold, we can see how high the position of the Xu family who lives here is. It's just a pity that I didn't take pictures after entering the house because of the live broadcast. Unfortunately, the ancient air conditioning system and two stone piers suspected of golden nanmu were not photographed.
