What's the difference between a human lens and a portrait lens?

1, different perspectives

Humanistic lens needs a broader perspective to accommodate more elements; Portrait lens has narrow viewing angle and long focal length.

2. Different application scenarios

Humanistic lens originates from humanistic photography and records the traces and thoughts of human activities. Because it needs to respond to people and the environment, it uses a wide-angle lens; Portrait lenses are mostly large-caliber medium-telephoto lenses, and the imaging effect is so-called "tip milk", which is suitable for portrait performers.

Extended data:

There are many ways to classify shots. For example, we can divide snapshots into two categories: zoom and focus.

1, zoom lens

Zoom: refers to a lens whose focal length can be changed within a certain range, such as 12-24-70mm, 24-70mm, 70-200 mm, etc.

Advantages of zoom lens:

It can be used to quickly capture moving scenes and take photos of different scenes without changing the lens.

In addition, if you want to go out for long-distance shooting, you need lenses with different focal lengths. It is more convenient to use a zoom lens than to use multiple fixed focal lengths.

Disadvantages of zoom lens:

Because the structure of zoom lens is more complicated and the optical path design is more difficult, compared with fixed-focus lens, zoom lens has higher price, worse imaging quality and smaller aperture.

2. Fixed focus lens

Fixed focus: those lenses whose focal length cannot be changed, such as 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, etc.

Advantages of fixed focus lens:

Because the zoom function is not needed, the optical design and mechanical structure of the zoom lens are simpler. Under the condition of low manufacturing cost, it can obtain higher image quality and larger aperture, and it is lighter than the zoom lens of the same level.

Greater aperture benefits: on the one hand, it is conducive to shooting in dark environment, on the other hand, it is easier to shoot the effect of blurred background.

Disadvantages of fixed focus lens:

Because the zoom can't be changed, that is to say, the size of the viewfinder can't be changed, so the focal length lens is not suitable for the working environment and needs to change the viewfinder quickly. The so-called zoom basically depends on walking, that's all.

Of course, these problems we are discussing are universal, and there are inexpensive zoom lenses, but at least the characteristics of large aperture are not as good as those of fixed focus lenses.
