The story of Jobs and Bill Gates

The past few decades can be seen as a process from "cautious allies" to "close friends" between these two people. In their own minds, it is difficult for others to define whether they are rivals or friends.

But for Bill Gates, "friends" include not only friends who start businesses together like paul allen, but also competitors who are also full of legends. Perhaps the most legendary is Jobs.

As I said before, they are not eternal enemies. In the early days of Microsoft, II was the most popular time. At that time, Gates often flew to Cupertino (located in the south of the Bay Area, where Apple is headquartered) to see what Apple was doing and communicate with Jobs.

In 1980s, Jobs flew to Washington to seek cooperation with Gates on the Macintosh microprocessor. The significance of this computer is that the graphical user interface is widely used in personal computers for the first time.

Gates recalled that he was not particularly impressed at that time, but thought it had a strange temptation. At that time, Jobs said to him: I don't need you to help me complete the sales, but I will let you participate in it.

Gates once said: He knew Jobs' technology, just like an outdated UNIX system, you would never use it on your computer. And he (referring to Jobs) is like a super salesman, and actually knows nothing about the product itself.

From then on, Gates began to understand and admire Jobs, although their opinions were always different. However, when Apple launched iTunes, Gates still issued an internal statement from Microsoft, saying that Steve Jobs would use his concentration and judgment to set off a great revolution in the electronic product market.

Extended data:

Jobs believes that there is no limit to innovation, and the limit is imagination. He believes that if it is a growing industry, innovation means making products more efficient, easier to use and easier to use in work. If it is a shrinking industry, innovation is to quickly quit the original model and change yourself before products and services become outdated and not easy to use.

Jobs believes that the top ten employees of a startup company determine the level of the company, because everyone should be able to undertake one-tenth of the company's work.

He often uses the Beatles as a metaphor for the strength of a team: no major task can be accomplished by one person, or by two, three or four people. In order to do a good job, you can't just rely on one person to complete the work, you must find someone with extraordinary ability to cooperate. Finally, sum up the forces generated by individual interactions, so that the overall strength will be far greater than the sum of individual strengths.

Bill Gates said:

Most of our competitors are doing badly. They don't know how to introduce talents with business and technical skills, let alone how to fully organize and combine the advantages of these talents. They also don't know how to promote themselves around the world.

We always overestimate the changes that will happen in the next year or two, and always underestimate the changes that will happen in the next 10 year. So, don't let yourself fall into the dilemma of doing nothing.

I wish I had a chance to write more code. I'm really nosy. They are not allowed to put my code in the upcoming software product.

They have been doing this for the past eight years. And when I said I would join them and write code on weekends, they looked surprised and really didn't trust my programming ability as before. I have to say, being weak in search engines is actually very interesting. We set up a large-scale development team for this purpose, and I believe I will remember the efforts made for this purpose.
