Tips for traveling street shooting
Tips for traveling street shooting 1. When you turn on the street shooting mode, you should always be ready!
When I say "always ready" here, I don't mean to be like a professional street photographer, staring at all directions and thinking only about photography. It means that you can accurately capture the ideal moment in your trip.
Generally, if it is a serious street shooting, it is recommended to use manual mode, set the exposure before taking pictures, and completely control all exposure parameters. But we don't want to switch between various parameters all the time during the trip, and we can choose to use aperture priority mode or shutter priority mode.
The advantage of using aperture priority mode and shutter priority mode is that you can leave part of the calculation to the camera, which can leave you more energy and time to observe things, and you can also better conceive the whole picture, grasp the details in a short time and shoot an ideal picture. The camera I travel with is Canon EOS M3 camera. It must be mentioned that M3 is equipped with a touch screen, which is as simple as shooting with a mobile phone, which can not only ensure fast shooting, but also ensure the imaging quality of photos.
Second, about the self-cultivation of actors.
As a street photographer, acting will bring you many benefits. Usually, I would suggest acting like a traveler when shooting in the street and watching everything happening in the street. But now that you are a traveler, the question comes: What should street shooting do when we are travelers?
The answer is: a beautiful girl (or handsome man) who is casual, low-key and quiet.
Because the most important thing in street shooting is not to look directly at the person you want to shoot. Eye contact will make others notice you immediately. Even for a moment, it will ruin your disguise. So the correct street shooting posture should be: look quietly, shoot quietly, and then I leave quietly. M3' s focus is very smooth and quiet, so it is not easy to disturb the subject when shooting. Of course, if it is eye contact, don't be nervous. A sincere smile and a hello can help you resolve 90% misunderstandings and embarrassment.
When the subject is immersed in his own world, he will not pay attention to anything around him, including you. Before lifting the camera, make a good picture, put the main characters in the middle of the picture to the left, avoid overlapping with the characters in the background, and "create" a space for them in the picture, which conforms to the composition principle of the "golden rule" of Jiugongge. This can make the subject of the photo stand out, blur the background and highlight the subject better.
What you shoot depends on what you see.
1, find a special angle
Different angles can often make people feel fresh and impressive. The ultra-wide-angle lens used in this photo makes the picture dramatic. In addition, the photographer has a unique way, using the characteristics of the building itself and the silhouette of people under the light and shadow to form some lines and points, which also makes the picture dynamic. Therefore, when you can't find the inspiration for shooting from the conventional angle, you might as well try to choose a unique angle. For example, this photo is taken from the bottom of the subject, not from a parallel angle, which will achieve unexpected results. It must be mentioned here that in addition to the common lens system of M series, M3 can also transfer all the lenses of Canon SLR cameras. When matching different subjects and angles, more lens choices will naturally get twice the result with half the effort.
2. Learn humor and look for contrast.
A sense of humor in photography is not innate. Through constant observation, you will gradually learn. The most common humor in photography is misplaced photography. When two completely different things collide, the so-called "contrast bud" will appear.
3. God said: Let there be light!
Light and shadow are the soul of photography. Silhouette, a photography technique that simply outlines the subject, has always been easy to attract the attention of viewers. The basic skill of silhouette shooting is to use backlight shooting, that is, the photographer faces the light source. If you use aperture priority or shutter priority mode, you can get good silhouette effect by reducing exposure through exposure compensation. Of course, if you want to ensure the success rate, you can change to manual mode when the light source is stable, focus on the light source in the background, then increase the shutter speed and narrow the aperture to reduce the exposure, so that you can take a silhouette photo.
