What are the requirements for art students to study abroad?
Portfolio content
Generally, 10- 15 works need to be submitted for the portfolio. Because the portfolio does not conflict with the art AP, most students will prepare 24 works for both the art AP and the university application. The contents of the portfolio are classified as follows:
1, sketch
Sketch is a traditional painting method, which takes still life, character model, portrait or landscape as the theme and renders the theme as accurately as possible. These paintings should not be based on photos or imagination, but should come from real life. The size of the work should be around 18×24 or larger, and the work should fill the whole picture. Most of these works are done with pencils, charcoal pens or other painting media, and can also include oil paintings and collages.
Step 2 create
Creation refers to the works made outside the classroom, reflecting the author's unique ideas about the materials and themes used. Works can be done in any media, including (but not limited to) sketch, painting, photography, mixed media, digital, computer technology,
Film, video, ceramics, sculpture, animation and performing arts.
3. Photography
Take your own photos and develop them yourself (digital photos printed by print shops are not allowed). When it comes to photography, the school is only interested in why you chose this theme and how it was printed into a work. You should attach a short description to the description of each photo and why you want to make that particular photographic work or series.
Portfolio display
1, electronic portfolio
Most universities use slideroom platform or their own school platform to upload their works, which is explained in detail on the school website. Some universities also send an email to inform the specific operation mode of uploading works after submitting the application form.
Note that when remaking the original, it is best to shoot it with a high-definition SLR camera under uniform natural light, trim the redundant parts of the corners with software, adjust the distorted picture, and restore the color close to the original.
Note: the details of the original painting need to be preserved to the greatest extent, and improper PS will affect the quality of the work.
2. Paper version and slide combination
The electronic version of the work is typeset and printed into a book, which is the paper version of the collection. Few schools require a paper portfolio. Few schools require slide reverse films. Some websites have the service of making reverse films, uploading electronic versions of works, and the reverse films can be sent home by mail. Submit only targeted and clear slides. Write down your name, date, position and the size of your job on the edge of the slide. Create a slide description list.
How to prepare art students' works abroad? This is the answer. Art students who don't know how to prepare the portfolio can learn about it first, hoping to help the university.
