How to shoot beautiful scenery with a camera

How to shoot beautiful and moving scenery with a camera? The following are related skills, I hope to help you.

1, completely control the camera in "manual mode"

In most cases, we are used to aperture priority and shutter priority mode, and it is inevitable to switch to manual mode for a period of time, but the operability and creativity brought by manual mode will definitely make you regret it. In application, after switching to manual mode, in order to adjust the appropriate exposure setting, you should first pay attention to your subject and preset the desired effect, which is the most important benchmark in exposure setting.

In the aperture setting, the best setting should be to keep the best sharpness of the picture and have enough luminosity. Different from the aperture priority mode, in the manual mode, we need to constantly change the exposure settings, especially in the "prime time" (half an hour before dawn and dusk), which is the softest and most golden time of the day. The photos taken during this time feel fantastic, but the brightness of the environment will change constantly. I took a photo at this moment, and I may need to adjust the exposure again at the next moment.

When shooting, it is recommended to turn on live view and histogram metering to adjust exposure.

2. Prepare the picture composition

Low-light shooting often requires constant attempts and long exposure to achieve more results. So the shooting process usually takes a long time, so be sure to make more preparations before shooting.

When shooting a sunset or night scene, you must arrive at the scene at least one or two hours before sunset, get ready for shooting equipment, and find a suitable picture prospect. If you shoot the starry sky, you must find a shooting position that is least affected by light. After you have figured out the composition in your mind, the next step is to prepare the required shots to express your ideas.

Maybe you need a telephoto lens to highlight the subject and minimize the black area. Maybe you need a wide-angle lens to create the atmosphere you want to express. Think about the composition before shooting, try different settings when shooting, and one day you will find your favorite direction.

3. Pursuing stability

It may be a little difficult to take a heavy tripod to shoot in the mountains. However, due to the relatively weak light source after dusk, the exposure time is longer. Generally, depending on the shooting situation, it may be necessary to use a slower shutter ranging from 1/20 seconds to 30 seconds, 1 minute and 2 minutes. When the photographer holds his hand for too long, it will shake his hand and blur the photo. So in order to take good photos and keep high definition, it is better to work hard and bring a tripod!

When placing the tripod, put it down in the approximate shooting position, aim one foot at your main body, and then stand in the middle of the last two tripods. After placing, make sure that the tripod platform is in a horizontal position. Finally, if the shooting position is windy, put something to fix the tripod position. Of course, in the absence of a tripod, we can still shoot as much as possible, such as putting the camera in a fixed position such as railings and stones, holding the machine in the right posture or leaning against the wall or railing to make the body shoot more stable. These methods reduce the movement during exposure and keep the image clear and detailed.

4, low light focusing skills

If you have ever taken a night scene, you may have tried to shoot it unsuccessfully when pressing the shutter. The main reason is that the camera failed to focus, so the shooting function was locked and the shooting failed. So how do you shoot in low light?

The simplest method is to use manual focusing, and it is more convenient to use an electronic viewfinder (EVF) or a real-time display camera. Adjust the brightness of the camera screen to the maximum, make a composition, place the tripod stably, then put the main body into the focus rectangle, press the zoom button again, and then turn the focus ring until the clearest picture is obtained. To help focus, try to illuminate the subject with a flashlight in the dark before focusing.

5, surround focusing skills

Generally speaking, surround shooting technology is only used for exposure, but it can also be used for focusing. Even if you are careful when shooting, there will always be some human errors. So taking photos with different focal lengths, we can choose the best one on the big screen of the computer. The method is very direct, focusing first and then fine-tuning to the far and near focus to take different photos.

Sometimes you focus manually in low light, so you might as well try shooting with different focus points to avoid finding the photos out of focus when you get home.

6. Peripheral exposure skills

Like bracketing, bracketing ensures the best effect by taking multiple images (usually three) at different shutter speeds. It is most useful when you are not sure which setting is the correct exposure. Of course, there is no clear definition of correct exposure, and it is correct to express your own pictures. Here we are based on the correct exposure of data.

Another skill about exposure, which I believe everyone knows very well, is high dynamic range HDR. The shooting method is to take a photo with the exposure indication of 0, and then adjust the shutter speed to take a photo with overexposure+1 and underexposure-1 respectively. Finally, you can use HDR Professional Edition in Adobe Photoshop to combine three photos and make some fine adjustments.

7. Balance the light with a filter.

Sometimes, such as dusk or sunrise, the sky will be much brighter than the ground, and the exposure will be subject to the sky, and the ground exposure will be seriously insufficient and black; Exposure is based on the ground, and the sky will be seriously overexposed and become pale. At this time, gradient gray filter (GND) is needed to balance the light difference and avoid large-area overexposure or darkness. With the GND filter, you can make photos look like HDR photos.

8. Try to avoid any vibration of the camera.

If you follow enough advice, everyone should be able to take good photos. But as a perfectionist photographer, there must be no mistakes. Then what we need is a wire control or infrared remote control to eliminate the slight vibration of pressing the shutter. If there is no remote control, just use the countdown mode, and the same effect can be achieved.

9, the use of high sensitivity (ISO)

When shooting at high sensitivity, the noise will definitely increase, so we never use it much. However, in the low light environment, the practicability of high sensitivity allows us to obtain enough shutter speed, reduce the image blur caused by the shaking of the equipment or the main body, and dynamically use the shutter speed to instantly cure. Now the equipment has been able to control the noise greatly in both software and hardware. Even if the noise is obvious, the image blur can be reduced by increasing the shutter speed, and the resulting works can still be very sharp. In most cases, works with high noise and clear images are considered to be more successful than photos with low noise but blurred images. So you might as well try.
