Why can't the Olympic torch be blown out?

Torch burning technology is also the guarantee for the torch to go to the ground. As a symbol of the Olympic spirit, the eternal flame naturally becomes the most critical requirement. China, which has sent a manned spacecraft into space, technically speaking, it is not difficult to send the flame to Mount Everest. There are five innovations in the Olympic torch combustion system: first, the combination of premixed flame and diffusion flame is reliable and stable, with strong weather resistance; Secondly, the gas-phase pressure stabilization technology can keep the flame height constant and the pressure stable in the height range of 0 ~ 2500 meters; Thirdly, the use of propane as fuel ensures a wide temperature adaptation range; Fourthly, it is safe and durable to store fuel with an integral seamless high-pressure aluminum bottle; Fifth, efficient heat recovery of fuel cycle, that is, using the heat of the flame itself to heat the fuel bottle, so that it can still work as usual at the low temperature of -40℃. The torch uses propane as fuel, which is an outstanding environmental protection feature. In addition, because the Olympic torch may face various unexpected climatic conditions during the relay, strong winds and heavy rains will severely test its combustion technology. In order to provide a reliable combustion system for the torch, Aerospace Science and Industry Group contributed a reliable "core" to the Olympic flame. This "core" combustion system consists of three parts: burner, pressure stabilizing device and gas storage tank. Among them, the burner adopts an innovative double flame scheme, that is, the pre-combustion chamber plus the main combustion chamber. This is the first time that the precombustion chamber is separated from the main combustion chamber in the design of the Olympic torch. The flame in the precombustion chamber will ensure that the torch will not go out. Even in windy weather, the precombustion chamber buried under the top of the torch will not be affected. The flame derived from the main combustion chamber will make the flame of the whole torch burn, ensuring the visual effect of the torch.
