Portrait photography lighting skills photography course
In the process of learning photography, most people gradually progress from natural light shooting to lighting shooting. Many people often encounter many bottlenecks and difficulties when learning lighting, which is nothing more than what you see is what you get, so they often think well in their minds. Unfortunately, the world of lighting is not what they think. Even if some people use so-called visible light equipment (such as some led lights or some fluorescent lights), they still can't get the picture they want, and even have the problem of insufficient output, and finally give up.
In fact, lighting is not as difficult as imagined, but lighting needs more experience in natural light shooting, including some observation of light direction and some contrast control. If you can capture some feelings when shooting in natural light, I think you have taken a step forward in lighting skills. Now let's look at some different polishing methods!
Backlighting, as shown in the above picture, is a technique that many people often use when shooting portraits. Backlight will make photos have a very special sense of space, and there will be a "photo thorn" that will make people shine.
Similarly, we can also use lights to express this technique. We can use a flash at the left rear of the model, and then illuminate it at a higher angle, so that the lens can get some light, and then we can shoot the backlight technology as shown below.
Of course, except outdoors, the lighting method of white paper in the shed can be the same, and the lighting method is similar, but we use naked lights (shed lights without lampshades) here, so that the light can shine on people and the background. We also add a shed light with radome in front of the model to brighten the face.
In addition, generally indoors, we often take the following photos, in which the sidelight of a window lamp hits the model's face. There will be some highlights on the face, and the contrast between the two sides of the face will make the picture more stereoscopic.
Similarly, we can also use lights to create a contrast between light and shadow on our faces. In the picture below, we use two external flash holders outdoors, and then use white curtains to illuminate a large area with soft light to create a photo very similar to the above picture.
Of course, in addition to imitating nature, we can also use the lighting technique in the shed and put it outdoors to turn the background into a big canvas in your picture, and your model is standing on this canvas, and then take photos similar to those in the shed with fewer lights.
As shown above, there is a large octagonal soft mask in the left front of the model, which is only played by a single lamp.
Of course, if you enter the shed, you can also imitate sunlight with bare light and make lines like sunlight, as long as your light output is large enough and your height is high enough.
There are many ways of lighting in the shed. For example, the multi-lamp game shown below will be the goal of many people. After all, the situation of multiple lamps means that you have to consider more lamps, and in this case, you have to control more factors, but if you can accurately grasp the purpose of lighting each lamp, it is not far from this goal.
There are many lighting tools, and we will make good use of your weapons in our study! ;
