List of Graphic Design Printing Knowledge

The printing knowledge that graphic design needs to master mainly includes: document mode, bleeding position, paper size, paper type, quotation, overprint, resolution design, etc. This paper will introduce these knowledge points in detail for you to help you better master the knowledge of graphic design and printing.

Document mode

Document modes are commonly referred to as RGB and CMYK modes.

Bleeding position setting

The setting of bleeding position is generally 3MM (no matter what you design, you need to set it as long as it is finally printed).

paper size

The size of paper is folio: when printing and designing products, we should consider how much paper to use to avoid waste.

Paper type

According to different product requirements, ask customers what kind of paper to use. For example, to print the book "The Bible of High-end Decoration and Color Adjustment in the Late Stage of Photoshop Portrait Photography (2nd Edition)", it is necessary to use coated paper instead of offset paper, because coated paper can keep the picture clear, delicate and good in color, which is almost impossible for offset paper.

cite

According to the customer's conditions and requirements, appropriate recommendations are given, so different paper prices are different, and different printing process prices are also different. For example, a high-grade magazine with gold concave-convex effect is very different from ordinary printing.

nest of seals

Overprinting is mainly to solve the phenomenon that there will be no white edges in the text when printing.

Resolution design

Resolution design: print at least 300DPI, but not necessarily. Usually, the black and white effect is 200-250, and the color must be 300, but for safety reasons, setting 300DPI is enough.

suggestion

I suggest you turn from graphic design to UI design, because there are fewer and fewer paper media now, and more development trends are e-books, reading books through mobile terminals (such as mobile phones and tablet computers).
