On September 6, CCTV's "News Live Room" reported a news that there have been many aurora explosions over Zhongshan Station in Antarctica recently. The expedition members who were wintering at Zhongshan Station recorded a shocking scene with a high-definition camera. The yellow-green aurora, like a rolling cloud, enveloped the whole Zhongshan station, and the snow-covered ground was also stained with a layer of green light.

Due to the geomagnetic activity of the earth, the aurora is a colorful luminous phenomenon that occurs in the high altitude of the earth's north and south poles. The aurora of the earth is produced by the high-energy charged particle flow from the earth's magnetosphere or the sun, that is, the solar wind excites or ionizes molecules or atoms in the upper atmosphere.

Aurora has three conditions: atmosphere, magnetic field and high-energy charged particles, all of which are indispensable. Aurora not only appears on the earth, but also on other planets with magnetic fields in the solar system.

Zhongshan Station in Antarctica was built in 1989. At the beginning, the old players experienced many difficulties. After more than 20 years of transformation, the conditions of Zhongshan Station have been greatly improved: there are various buildings such as office building, dormitory building, meteorological building, scientific research building, cultural and sports building, etc., with a construction area of 2,700 square meters, as well as power generation building and garage.

The life on the station is complete, which can meet the work and life needs of the players. It can receive 60 summer tourists and 25 winter tourists every year. Team members' dormitory is equipped with multifunctional soft beds, sofas, writing desks and wardrobes. The indoor temperature is suitable and can be kept at 16 ~ 20 degrees all year round.

The green aurora that we saw recently was shot by the players who were wintering in Zhongshan Station with high-definition cameras, so it is not difficult to shoot such a shocking picture compared with the current conditions. Thanks to the efforts of the explorers, we will see such a rare human miracle.
