A trip to Maling River Canyon in Xingyi, Guizhou
Malinghe Canyon is located 6 kilometers northeast of Xingyi City in southwest Guizhou Province. During the orogeny, it was a narrow and deep fissure canyon cut by swift rivers and groundwater on the surface of Pingchuan. The Grand Canyon is 74.8 kilometers long, 50- 100 meters wide and 120-280 meters deep, showing a multi-level and multi-type karst landscape. It is famous for its rare ground fissures, suspended waterfalls and suspended calcium carbonate, and is known as "a beautiful scar on the earth".
We entered the scenic spot from the entrance (north gate) of Dachaiwo until we reached the bottom. Soon we passed the Maling River sightseeing elevator, only to see the elevator as high as 73. 12 meters close to the cliff and straight into the bottom, which was very spectacular.
Few people know the story behind this comfortable and convenient sightseeing elevator:1In June 1999, the cable car running in the canyon suddenly fell. In a flash, a young couple held their two-and-a-half-year-old son in their hands. As a result, the son was saved, but his parents died one after another.
Today, the cable car of that year has long been banned and no longer exists. Visitors can take the sightseeing elevator up and down the Grand Canyon. I stood in front of the vertical elevator, and my mind echoed over and over again the song Dawn written by Han Hong for this heroic and touching life story: It was that autumn that I never saw my father's face again/he held up the starting point of my rebirth with his shoulders/…/I watched my parents walk away/left me in this strange world …
We walked along the circular plank road on both sides. I saw waterfalls and caves connected in the canyon, vines winding and swaying, bamboo forests hanging upside down, ancient trees with jagged teeth, steep rock walls, green and clear rivers, or flowing or surging.
Waterfalls are constantly coming into our eyes on both sides of the river, and water vapor is blowing on our faces, washing away the summer heat and the fatigue of the journey for us. There are more than 20 waterfalls, such as Tianshengqiao Waterfall, Veil Waterfall and Wanma Bouncing Waterfall, within the range of 1.7 km.
Among them, the main waterfall of Tianshengqiao Waterfall plunges straight down from the cliff, hanging a water curtain to the hollow cliff wall, which is magnificent and flying flowers splash jade; Next to the waterfall, down the cliff, many streams are pulled out by the raised cliff walls and plants, such as the fairy's clothes fluttering and swaying, gentle and low, and finally all merge into the shallows at the bottom of the valley and flow into the distance. Interestingly, Tianshengqiao Waterfall is located in a high position, so there are plank roads on both sides from the descending steps in the middle of the canyon, and you can see a variety of weather in the waterfall from different angles, which is really "different in distance".
The veil waterfall may not be specific to which one to hang. This waterfall has a small flow, clear water, and the water layer is scattered sparsely and evenly along the protruding calcified rock wall. It floats like smoke and fog, and flashes a little silver light in the sun, such as a thin transparent veil or an open plain silk sector, so some people jokingly call it the "bride veil". The beauty of the veil waterfall reveals mystery, and her comeliness and charm make people want to touch her at close range.
Then, we arrived at Shihai Bridge and enjoyed the largest Wan Ma Benteng Waterfall on the observation deck in the Waterfall Competition Area. It is also the landmark attraction of Maling River Gorge, and the waterfalls here are displayed on the tickets of the scenic spot. I saw several hanging waterfalls on the cliff lined up in turn, pouring and roaring, falling vertically into the narrow deep stream below, rising all over the sky at the bottom of the valley, and the waves churned, chasing each other and rushing to the distance. The deafening sound of water and the huge momentum of rolling waves are really like thousands of Ma Benteng.
We also saw unique calcified rocks on the cliffs on both sides of the Grand Canyon, also known as "Ganoderma lucidum rocks". From a distance, these rock walls are like fish scales piled up, like mushrooms holding umbrellas, and like the eaves of huts. They are covered with thick moss and scattered in green. Moss has become the best cultivation soil here, and there are many small plants growing on it.
The river water in karst area contains a lot of calcium carbonate. Due to the sudden pressure drop and atomization, the river quickly released calcium carbonate and attached to cliff plants, forming a unique calcified plant here. Calcium carbonate material accumulates over time, and it grows bigger and bigger, giving birth to a large-scale and magnificent calcified waterfall on the two walls of the canyon; Intertwined with majestic waterfalls and peak forests, it constitutes an extremely rare and rare landscape.
Someone wrote a poem, summarizing the formation principle of calcified rock wall: calcium carbonate in water, rock in river. The rapids are foggy and floating on the wall. Moss becomes soil, and over time it becomes "mushroom". Layer upon layer, fish scales "Pearl Waterfall".
Just above Maling River Canyon, there is a tall, handsome and dangerous canyon bridge flying to the sky. As the saying goes: elevated mountains and canyons, natural moats become thoroughfares!
At sunset, we walked out of the gate of the scenic spot and walked to the exit of the scenic spot, overlooking the Maling River Grand Canyon on the Canyon Bridge next to National Highway 324. This is exactly what happened: thousands of springs returned to their valleys and streams eroded back. Rocks form waterfalls with scales on the peaks. Drunk and beautiful in Guizhou, the beauty lies in the mountains and rivers. The gutter is the most beautiful scar.
