China Yangko History and Culture
Throughout history, most of the recorded songs and dances are court dances of peace and prosperity, and few people with real dance culture have made some comments. 1942, Comrade Mao Zedong's speech at the Yan 'an Forum on Literature and Art solemnly discussed the role of the people in the history of China's literary and artistic development for the first time. Since then, Yan 'an (northwest of China) has set off the "Yan 'an New Yangko Movement", and China's dance art has turned a new page.
"New Yangko" originated from "Kicking Yangko" in northern Shaanxi (northwest of China). This is a kind of song and dance that amuses oneself. Inspired by the spirit of Mao Zedong's "speech", professional artists processed it and injected the spirit of the times. Strong rhythm, bold pace, deeply loved by the masses. With the pace of China People's Liberation Army's liberation of China, this "yangko" has been twisted from the old liberated areas to all parts of the country.
