Employment prospect of geographic information science major
Geographic information system (GIS), as a major in university education, began to appear in many foreign universities in 1970s, but there are 140 universities in China offering this major, and the demand for senior talents engaged in GIS design and development is in short supply. With the process of informatization in various departments of the country and the increase and development of high-tech enterprises engaged in the development of geographic information system engineering in China, the demand for this professional talent will increase and the gap will expand.
