What preparations should I make to apply for a graduate student at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD)?

A. 10-20 works, some courses will have more detailed requirements for the portfolio.

note:

1) The portfolio can be submitted via Slideroom via the Internet (you need to pay $10);

B. Details of architecture portfolio requirements

Replicas, hand-drawn, 2D or 3D works or handwritten materials of handicrafts or designs; In addition, you need to submit your digital portfolio through Slideroom or CD/DVD, and each work should be compressed into a CD/DVD separately. Pictures should be in JPG format, and each work should not exceed 3MB. Don't put the picture in PPT/Keynote; ; The video works are in Quicktime/mpg format; If the school wants to return the work to you after examination, the postage will be borne by the students, and the work will be returned before May 15.

The layout of these works should be concise, direct and have personal original opinions.

C. Detailed information on product portfolio requirements of digital media specialty (digital+media)

20 paintings or similar works at work (webpage, 10 minute video excerpt, CD/DVD with interactive design, URL, CG animation); The CD should indicate whether it is based on an Apple computer or a PC computer.

D. Other materials required by graphic design students.

All students' works must be submitted online through Slideroom; Do not accept originals and books;

Submit 20-25 photos, each of which is no more than 2MB, in tif/jpg format; The video is in Quicktime format. Please submit excerpts for longer video works. Submit a copy of the work.

E. Details of indoor building combination requirements

You can submit digital form or copy; If the materials are submitted on CD/DVD or flash drive, each PDF file shall contain 10-20 design drawings.

F. Details of landscape design portfolio requirements

G. Details required for photographic works

Applicants can submit 20 works in the form of PPT/Keynote through Slideroom or CD; The CD should contain two independent documents: the artist's personal statement related to the submitted work; List of works; (Each photo in PPT/Keynote cannot exceed 2MB；; The CD should indicate the name of the applicant)

3) Personal statement

Applicants are required to submit a personal statement of 500-700 words, explaining the reasons for the application and what potential individuals have to become artists/designers; Personal artistic experience, etc. (Some professional teams have more detailed requirements for personal statements, please refer to official website).
