Lightning shooting skill

Lightning is one of the symbols of nature's powerful forces, and it is an invincible force for human beings. Many myths and legends take lightning as the theme, and even use lightning to represent the punishment of heaven. There are also many people who fantasize that human beings can effectively use lightning as energy one day. Although we didn't achieve our goal technically, at least we can record this shocking image through photography. But when shooting lightning, you need to pay attention to the following points.

First, pay attention to safety.

When shooting lightning, the first point is to pay attention to safety, and don't take photos with your life. Never stand where lightning strikes. The tops of trees, hills and tall buildings are easy targets for lightning. In the wild, it is best to stay in the car, which is an excellent lightning protection facility. When there is no shelter, if there are only isolated trees nearby, it is best to squat in the open air twice the height of the trees. Safety is the premise for us to take more good photos.

Second, long exposure.

Lightning can appear at any time, and it is fleeting. If you press the shutter at the moment you see lightning, you won't be able to shoot it. To solve this problem, we will be exposed for a long time.

1. Use a tripod, preferably a remote control or cable release to reduce the vibration of the fuselage.

2. Use manual exposure mode to close the aperture to f/8-f/ 1 1 and reduce the shutter speed.

3. Set the ISO to the lowest, such as ISO 100.

4. Use manual focusing to adjust the focus to infinity to avoid the time lag problem of autofocus.

Third, don't just shoot lightning.

Don't just shoot the lightning itself, the right environment can increase the level and shock of the picture.

Fourth, multiple exposures.

If we want to take multiple lightning shots in the same photo, we can use the multiple exposure function of the camera to take two exposures in the same photo, so that we can take lightning shots in different positions! Of course, it is also safe to superimpose multiple lightning photos into one in post-production. After all, multiple exposures are irreversible shooting techniques.

Verb (abbreviation of verb) is prepared in advance.

Lightning doesn't happen very often We need to pay more attention to some safe places where lightning may be photographed on weekdays. If lightning happens, pick up the camera and tripod and go! One more thing, lightning is often accompanied by rain. Don't forget to waterproof the camera when shooting. After shooting, clean it and put it in moistureproof box for maintenance.
