Brief introduction of Jiushan Island

Hatoyama Island is located in Yaeyama Islands, Ryukyu Islands, 5.4 kilometers north of Ximiao Island. The shape of the island is close to a circle, and the flat central part around it is hilly. The hilly area is called "Hatoyama Nakamori". The lighthouse built in 1948, at an altitude of 16 meters, stands in the green forest and becomes a symbol of the island among pigeons.

The island is dominated by subtropical coastal plants, with fields in the north and major settlements in the south. There are many grazing goats and cows scattered on the island.

The island is an island formed by the uplift of coral reefs.

Administratively, it now belongs to Taketomimachi, Yaeyama Prefecture, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan.
