The Enlightenment of Li Zai and Meng Liao

To create high-quality national culture, we must be based on reality, be far-sighted, and dig deep.

Yunnan is a multi-ethnic province with extremely rich ethnic cultural resources. It is undoubtedly a fertile ground for producing excellent ethnic cultural products. However, we have to admit that many of our national cultural products are still at the level of displaying natural scenery and national customs. Facing the profound cultural connotations hidden behind these scenery and customs, there is a lack of in-depth understanding. Digging. We say that the more national, the better the world. This does not mean that as long as we focus the lens on ethnic minorities, we can spread the country to the world, but that we must have an international perspective, examine our national culture with an international perspective, and capture its essence. Only by preserving cultural diversity amid the world's continuous convergence can the material and spiritual wealth created by mankind in the long-term development process be passed on. To create high-quality products of national culture, we must have a team that loves national culture, has profound thoughts, superb business skills, and strong professionalism.

The founder of "Li Zai Meng Liao" is Dai Guanglu. Many people may only know that he has been secretary of the state party committee, deputy governor, and deputy director of the Provincial People's Congress. He is an official. Not much is known about his other side. In fact, he has a relatively solid theoretical foundation. He was engaged in journalism and publicity work when he was young. He served as the editor-in-chief of the state radio station and the deputy director of the state radio and television bureau. He has strong political sensitivity and news sensitivity; he also dabbled in novels, Have high literary literacy in literary fields such as prose and poetry. I am not sure whether he can be regarded as a scholar-type leader, but I dare to assert that he can be called a leader-type scholar. He is the well-deserved leading figure in "Li Zai Meng Liao". He spent a year carefully selecting the filming team of "Li Zai Meng Liao".

Tan Leshui, who serves as the chief editor, director and chief cameraman, is now a senior director of Yunnan TV and concurrently serves as the executive deputy director of the Institute of East Asian Film and Television Anthropology at Yunnan University. He has filmed "Baka Village", "Faded" Ethnographic films such as "Black Teeth" and "Man Chunman's Story" have high attainments in television directing, ethnology, and anthropology.

Qi Yun, one of the cameramen, has worked in the "Animal World" column of CCTV for 16 years and is known as "the first person in animal photography in China". He shot the documentary "Tibetan Wildlife" It was broadcast on the National Geographic Channel in the United States.

Wang Yongkui, who serves as the production director, is of Zhuang ethnicity like Dai Guanglu. He understands and is familiar with the Zhuang people and has a deep national sentiment towards the Zhuang people.

The successful filming of "Li Zai Meng Liao" and its award-winning production also benefited from the results of many years of painstaking research by the Yunnan Zhuang Society. He Zhengting, a senior Zhuangxue expert in Yunnan Province and vice president of the Yunnan Zhuangxue Association, although he only serves as a producer in the film, is a veritable Zhuangxue consultant. It also benefits from the strong support and help of the Guangxi Zhuang Academy and a large number of Zhuang experts. A large number of expert interviews in the film were completed by inviting experts from the Guangxi Zhuang Academy. It is not difficult to see that it is inevitable that "Li Zai Meng Liao" will win the award and go abroad as a national cultural product created by such a team with strong ideas, professional skills and courage to devote itself to the cause of national culture. To create high-quality national cultural products, we must work hard, take the trouble and strive for excellence.

The filming and production of "Li Zai Meng Liao" has taken more than 6 years. In Dai Guanglu's words, it has gone through writing a notebook, finding tickets, forming a team, figuring out the route, shooting the film, and editing the film. There are 6 stages, each of which is very difficult. Dai Guanglu and Tan Leshui are both physically and mentally exhausted. The filming team has formed a first-class consciousness from the beginning: make full use of existing resources, maximize their existing abilities and levels, dig deep, concentrate on creating, and not rush for success. After they had a rough outline, they spent a spring, summer, autumn and winter shooting more than 200 hours of pornographic films. Based on the information provided by the pornographic films, they selected scenes and wrote commentary at the same time. It first took 7 months to compile a sample episode for discussion with experts and leaders. After getting approval, the post-production of the entire film began. How many times did each episode have to be made? Putting aside other work, Dai Guanglu I can't count the number of times I've sat in front of the computer with Tan Lexui and made films together. Every shot and every sentence in the film was not only input into the computer, but also familiar to them in their hearts.

Based on external feedback and opinions, they plan to designate the completed version as an academic version, and then make two versions: one is to compress the existing 45-minute episode length into 35 minutes , make a public version; the other is a pure English version distributed abroad.
