Some opinions and tips of Leica Q.

reinfecta

Q is a camera suitable for reducing fever.

This is a little more nonsense guide.

I hope to dispel some consumption desires.

Although Leica was once the pioneer of autofocus, it was ill-fated. Leica's development path seems to have avoided the wave of autofocus in the1980s, and a number of Japanese camera companies have become the trend of autofocus.

In the 265438+20th century, Leica cooperated with Matsushita of Japan to launch digital camera products, and began to produce autofocus models. During this period, most products are produced by two brand versions, and the Leica version usually has a slight gap in details such as coating. For savvy consumers, choosing Panasonic (especially Panasonic with diving title) is a flexible method compared with the expensive Leica version.

Lycraq introduced on 20 15 is different from LX100/d-luxtyp-109, and there is no Panasonic version.

Leica Q is equipped with a lens with a nominal aperture of 28mm F 1.7. Because the maximum aperture reached F 1.7, it was awarded the title of Summilux according to Leica's naming rules-this name generally exists in Leica fixed-focus lenses, and the open aperture is F 1.4 ~ 1.7.

As a knowledge base for chatting, this word comes from Latin, which means almost "the highest light"

From the market point of view, the asking price of Leica M's Summicron 28mm F2 ASPH is about 30,000, which is close to the price of Q that landed at that time, so there is a joke among players ~

Q belongs to buying a lens to autofocus the fuselage.

Unlike most "ordinary" lens designs, the outer side of the first lens of this 28/ 1.7 is concave. After listening to my "unusual" statement, Mr. Jintou showed me his GR…… ...

Some people say that the lens was designed by Konica Minolta, but there is no very conclusive evidence on the surface ... Fortunately, the hero does not ask the source, the lens (organic internal processing) performs well, and even jpg has a good performance.

Germany usually uses the comma ","as the decimal point-for example, F 2.8 writes F2,8-but it seems that Q did not inherit this virtue, but used a period ".",which is very common in the English-speaking world. This is also in line with the new logo of Leica products.

Compared with the Summicron 28/2 ASPH lens mentioned above, 28/ 1.7 is much larger, which is largely due to the automation equipment.

Auto focus and anti-shake lens.

Still balanced.

Leica Q's image sensor has been reported as Sony products and CMOSIS, a cutting-edge Belgian semiconductor design company.

After being denied by the developer in an interview, it is speculated that it comes from TowerJazz, a semiconductor company located in Israel (called Gaota Semiconductor in Chinese). In addition to technical parameters, the cooperation between Panasonic and Gaota Semiconductor also has great factors-they set up a new joint venture company on 20 14.

The highest ISO of this sensor can reach 50,000 in Q, and the personal feeling 12500 is acceptable.

Continuous shooting output can reach 10fps, of course, thanks to the processor and cache.

The processor named "Maestro" is the second generation product of this processor. It means "master/master" in Italian. As a German company, Leica doesn't quite understand the meaning of naming processors in Italian, but it has a strong sense of experience ... besides superficial work, it also includes the work of correcting lens defects.

In fact, the functions of processor and cache have been put forward in the design of Casio F 1, but they have not been paid attention to.

So we can observe a malignant example, Sony's A7R2 (ILCE-7R2); The sensor progress of this machine covers up many shortcomings, such as slow card writing, which some users think is the cause of the card, but even if the UHS-I Class3 high-speed card is used, the continuous shooting waiting situation has not been fundamentally improved (Sony later began to support UHS-II, but it cannot be said that this problem has been eradicated; Reference reading and writing speed).

After Q, Leica actively configured a 2GB cache on M 10 (compared with other enterprises). Never used M 10, I don't know the improvement brought by cache. In addition, it is the main sensor of M 10. I feel that the description parameters are related to the sensor of Q. Maybe the later M 10 uses the same or improved model of Q.

Q's fuselage main structure has adopted magnesium alloy, and the top cover has adopted aluminum.

One year before the release, the Leica TL of 20 14 had already demonstrated the process of "cutting with a whole piece of aluminum", so the top cover was displayed again.

Although the aluminum-magnesium alloy is much lighter than the brass material that other models may use (yes, it is conservative, but it is also said to be a selling point among players-exposed copper), the weight of the whole machine is still 640g(rx 1R II is about 507g), which is still relatively heavy for the purpose of using as a portable machine.

Handheld, it seems, has never been the focus of small computer research and development.

But NEX 7 provides a good solution.

However, Sony has not been used in the RX 1 series fuselage, and Leica Q, like the M series fuselage, has maintained an airport-like fluency.

Although described as a diamond pattern, this decorative leather pattern has no use for eggs.

Quan Huafu digital camera, as a fixed lens, is almost the same generation of Sony RX 1R II, which appears in various discussions about Leica Q. This article does not intend to involve other aspects of comparison, but we can borrow the comparison chart of DigitalRev official Instagram.

In 20 15 released by q, there is a discussion about the black box of fixed-focus digital camera.

It is found that the original RAW file of Q shows that the lens is deformed greatly and cannot be completely covered.

After several rounds of pulling, I still eat melons and go to the theatre.

As for the argument that Quan Huafu can't cover it, it's not that someone is fooling people with APS-C lens.

After talking about shortcomings and disputes, add a color version.

When it was first released, Q only provided an all-black body version. Later, other color schemes were introduced.

I haven't finished tidying up yet.

When buying these special editions, we should pay attention to whether the color matching effect on the back of Q, that is, the side facing the user, is harmonious, which is a question of user acceptance. But Leica seems ashamed to show it.

Leica's hair color seems to be self-sustaining.

Not satisfied with the contrast setting of Leica, so here it is changed to-1.

Iso sensitivity has made great progress in digital imaging in the past decade. As far as the Q sensor is concerned, I can accept the sensitivity performance of 10000. In the calibration of Leica, although there is irresistible noise density under high ISO conditions, the analysis is black and white, which is acceptable compared with color noise.

Therefore, under such changes, automatic ISO is acceptable.

Of course, when you need a long exposure, remember to switch it back.

White balance can be said to be the same as variable ISO, and digital performance is better than film performance.

Q's automatic white balance performance is very accurate, and you can safely leave it to the machine to decide on many occasions-but it may not meet your needs. The white balance floating in a series of photos is also a later trouble, and how to use it depends on the user's habits.

Keys controlled by the right thumb can support quick setting, which I define as focus switching.

Leica set the switching degree to 35 and 50, as if to pay tribute to its time-honored paraxial system. Unlike other digital models, this camera automatically zooms to 100%.

The fn of the left hand can also be set quickly. I define it as white balance-although the white balance of Q is very accurate in most cases, I still hope to change the white balance faster in some scenes.

What should be mentioned is the menu. In the simplified Chinese menu, the focus corresponding to the English menu is translated into focal length. Although it was taken alone, it can't be considered as a translation error, but obviously, look at the picture:

Accordingly, the traditional Chinese menu is translated as focus here.

Far from it, this problem arises because the translator gets the text instead of the physical camera in such an environment. Some ambiguities can be corrected.

What is even more shocking is that Leica did not find this problem in the re-inspection and has always kept this error.

Leica doesn't seem to have a unified idea, or think that people won't have machines other than Q. At least on the APP, Leica Q is an exclusive program.

The Android version of this program performs well, but the iOS version is not so good.

For browsing the photos in the camera, most of the current processing ideas are-"users want to see the photos they just took right away."

On Olympus, this idea was carried out and arranged in reverse order according to the shooting time;

Sony's PlayMemories is more cunning. When you connect, you will be asked whether to visit the photos of the day, which limits the number of photos and greatly speeds up the loading.

Back to Leica Q's APP, when browsing photos, they are all loaded by default, in the positive order of shooting date.

If you are a big card user and don't like cleaning photos, or travel long distances, you will find it a disaster to choose photos every time you connect.

I want to write another story about the camera link application.

This battery is also dedicated to Q, BP-DC 12, and the product number in Leica is 19 500.

Panasonic's DMW-BLC 12 is interchangeable with Leica standard batteries.

Maybe I can make a guess. Leica Typ 1 14 is a shell-changing version of Panasonic FZ 1000, and the batteries used are the same, so BLC 12 has a Leica version. In the cooperative development of Q, the model selection is calculated according to the parameters such as density, and it is found that it can be used directly, which leads to such interchangeability.

More interestingly, the BP-5 1 of Sigma Company is also interchangeable, and the internal code 0085 126-930394 is usually used as the article number, but it seems that there are not many distribution channels in Chinese mainland, but it is rarely called this.

Why do you want to change the battery like this? The main reason is the price difference. Leica's standard products are generally not cheap, but brands like Sigma and Panasonic have good quality assurance.

This may be reflected in the different price differences of different channels, such as Amazon in Japan, where Sigma is much cheaper than Panasonic's battery.

Maybe users who use FZ 1000 can consider using the batteries replaced by the auxiliary factory/third party, but for Q users, Panasonic/Sigma batteries have a good preferential ratio, and they don't have to bear the risk of incomplete decoding of the batteries in the auxiliary factory or unsatisfied limit conditions.

Q's lens cover is a sleeve structure. A cheaper example is X 100.

However, 49mm filter threads are also reserved, so it is no problem to attach a 49mm universal lens cover.

DigitalRev once jokingly exchanged the lens covers of Q and RX 1R II in Instagram, which was quite appropriate.

Personally, I suggest applying a universal lens cover. According to some Q-machine friends, the lens cover of Leica is either tight or loose.

Loose, naturally easy to drop; Too tight will cause the lens cover and lens part metal to be scratched.

Mysteriously, the lenses of Panasonic Lumix and M43 are mostly 46mm, and such lens covers can also adapt to Q's 49mm filter aperture.

In most cases, it is impossible for a positioning machine like Q to participate in multi-lamp lighting outside the board. So choosing a strong small flash is the best choice.

In the research and development of small-sized hot-shoe flashlights, the 20 14 Nissin i40 is a benchmark product, which maintains full-function design in a compact size: TTL, jump light, sufficiency index (GN40) and video fill light LED.

Leica should have noticed this product, and its "SF40" launched after Q release is highly similar to Nissin's i40 ... Although there is no strict textual research, it can be said that SF40 is the Leica version of i40.

As for "『SF26』", it is too watery by comparison. Advanced "SF64" ... feels unbalanced during installation.

It should be noted that some sellers will claim that their i40 is available in Leica-this is actually concentrated in Leica versions of LX 100 and other machines (Typ- 109, Typ- 1 14), because these dual-label machines are basically Panasonic variants, so the definition of hot boots is also.

However, compared with the price of 999 that Nissin i40 can see from time to time in Chinese mainland market, the price of SF40 is obviously not so friendly. The price of around 3,000 is the top original hot shoe lamp in Nikon Canon.

Besides, Nissin has released an updated version of i60, but Leica doesn't seem to follow up. In addition, for Leica users, perhaps exponential growth is not very urgent. If you have SF40, it's quite enough.

update

On 20 18-06, Leica introduced SF60. Look at the name and size, it should be i60.

There is also a SF C 1 remote controller, which should correspond to the AR01of Nissin.

For a friend who needs to be hidden in the crowd as an anonymous photographer, Leica's coke label is no less than the Jianghu killing order.

Therefore, there are naturally merchants in the rivers and lakes who have removed the Leica logo, and even Leica officials themselves have configured low-key versions on some new M.

Q There is no low-key version. Finding a 3M tape is your best choice.

Bags have nothing to recommend.

"Leica users are always looking for their next bag", which is true.

So there is nothing to recommend.
