Brick is a big brick two feet square; Since the Forbidden City was founded, this kind of gold brick made by special technology has been a specialty of the Forbidden City. This kind of brick was placed in an important palace in the Forbidden City. The golden bricks in the Hall of Supreme Harmony that we see now were laid during the reign of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty. Today, they are still as bright as new. In the Hall of Supreme Harmony in the Forbidden City, 47 18 gold bricks were placed.

BRIC making is an ancient traditional handicraft skill of Han nationality. This unique gold brick in the world is produced in the suburbs of Suzhou. Due to Suzhou's fine soil, rich colloid and strong plasticity, the gold bricks made are hard and dense. Moreover, Suzhou is close to the Grand Canal, with convenient transportation and direct access to Tongzhou, Beijing by water. For hundreds of years, its craftsmanship has been passed down from generation to generation and continues to this day. It is recorded that in the thirty-fourth year of Guangxu, there were twenty-four imperial stoves in Yuyao Village, Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, and the "Golden Brick" stopped in this year. At present, Yao Xingmin, a villager in Yuyao Village, has a number of "golden bricks" hidden in his home, two of which came out of the kiln in May of Zheng Deyuan in the Ming Dynasty, which should be regarded as the oldest existing "golden bricks".
