How did the film and television special effects team of Venom handle the production of motion capture special effects at the shooting scene?
Many special effects in the movie Venom are accomplished by using a three-dimensional optical motion capture system. The optical motion capture system records the position and motion of marker points or feature points attached to the captured object by using a camera or other optical equipment, and then reconstructs the three-dimensional posture by computer vision algorithm. Optical motion capture systems usually use infrared light and reflected light to identify points, which are divided into two types: calibrated systems need to attach reflective or luminous balls to the captured objects, while uncalibrated systems can directly identify the natural characteristics of human bodies or objects. The advantages of optical motion capture system are high precision, low delay and no electromagnetic interference.
