Second place kebab Author: Debdatta Chakraborty, this photo was taken by photographer Debdatta Chakraborty in Sri Nagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India on February 1.

My colleagues and I are in the village of Gouvis in northern Chveja. On the morning of August 8, a big fire was spreading. When the fire began to threaten the village, I didn't think taking pictures from a distance could tell the whole story.

So, we came to the highest point outside the village, where we could see how the fire spread. I photographed the villagers' reaction with my camera. They didn't leave the village, but they were trying to protect it.
