Film casting

Michael parks, who plays the brothel owner in the film, is also a favorite actor of Talentino for many years. Parks' performance in the TV series Bronson Coming in the 1970s attracted Talentino's attention. Warren Beatty was the candidate to play Bill, and later Talentino chose Carradine.

Yuan Heping was the first choice to play bridled eyebrows, but he was not suitable for this role, so Talentino decided to take the lead himself, and later decided to let Liu Jiahui play it. In the film preparation stage, Talentino joined the martial arts training camp early, trying to prepare for the role of "bridled eyebrows". However, the preparation process of the film is complicated, and Talentino gradually found that he didn't have time to cope with 8 hours of training every day, so he couldn't perform this role well, so he had to find Liu Jiahui to play it.

Shooting process

Talentino hired RZA, a famous music producer, to compose music for this film, and RZA played the leading role in the first film "Kill Bill". In addition, Talentino's good friend robert rodriguez also created some music for the Mexican scenes in the film. The film's three production designers are from China, the United States and Japan, and the costume designer and prop designer are also the joint efforts of China and the United States.

Lawrence Bender, quentin tarantino and the main actors came to China in May 2002 to receive martial arts training and choreography. In mid-June, several other producers and photography director robert richardson gathered a large group of multinational talents and several groups of translators to enter the Beijing Film Studio. On the set, a group of Chinese and American assistant directors supervise the daily shooting. The first assistant director in the United States was Bill Clark, who followed Talentino's old partner since Pulp Fiction, while the first assistant director in China was Zhang Jinzhan, who served as the executive director of Farewell My Concubine and Romantic Moon.

On the first day in China, the crew completed 22 sets, which is unheard of in Hollywood. After filming in Beijing Film Studio, the film crew rushed to Zhongwei Gaomiao Temple in the scenic spot to start filming for a week. In order to put this magnificent spectacle on the screen, the crew has to climb the 240-meter-high Gaomiao Mountain every day, which is miserable.
