The yearning and worship for Fan Jing originated from the ecological scientific research activities in Shiqian, Guizhou, China on 20 15. Cross-border scientific research focusing on Foding Mountain involves many disciplines such as ecological environment protection, animals and plants, hydrogeology and so on. The local rich natural resources and excellent ecological environment are amazing.

Among the Wuling Mountains in eastern Guizhou, Foding Mountain can only be regarded as the younger brother. What kind of magnificent sight should Fan Jing, the big brother at the top of Wuling? At that time, due to time constraints, I passed by Fan Jing, which was close at hand.

In September, 2008, members of the third cross-border scientific expedition of beautiful China once again gathered in jiangkou county, and the author finally got in touch with Fan Jing. Out of love, I spent two days in this expedition to visit Fan Jing from west to east, paying more attention to its unique mountainous terrain and reading the geological wonders of Fanjing Mountain with my heart.

Guizhou is mountainous with dense vegetation. On the expressway from Guiyang to Jiangkou, the mountains on both sides are undulating and covered with green shade, which makes me downplay my impression of mountains. I always feel that the oncoming mountain is a wave, and the farmhouse at the foot of the mountain is like a canoe.

The charm of nature is fully displayed in the endless green fields.

Entering Jiangkou County, the sky is always filled with dense fog and light rain. Fanjing Mountain is unique, which consists of geological wonders, ecological kingdom and Buddhist culture. It is a unique tourism resource in Shenzhou.

Looking up at the golden dome of the sky from the top of the mountain, stepping on the layered stone cliffs, reading thousands of stone carvings that record the changes of the earth under your feet and exploring the mysteries of the universe.

At this moment, the ancient and modern heaven and earth seem to be interlinked with each other, and perhaps only Fan Jing can give people such spiritual feelings.

Take the Xiling Mountain and enjoy the strange rocks and dangerous peaks.

From the entrance of Huguo Temple in Yinjiang River to the Jinding of the main peak, it is the western route to climb Fan Jing. Take the shuttle bus from the scenic spot to Mianxu Ridge halfway up the mountain, where the altitude has exceeded 2000 meters. After that, they walked through the forest along the mountain road. Some sections of trees are dense and branches interact to form a natural corridor hundreds of meters long, which is called black alley.

From time to time, you can see some metamorphic strata under the forest, which are covered with moss and lichen like green carpets.

Through the cracks in the trees, you can see misty valleys and magical Taizi Stone on both sides. After careful identification, we realized that we were actually walking on a narrow ridge.

Across the mountain is the ten thousand-meter reclining Buddha. There are several platforms to watch. However, the thick clouds always refused to disperse. Occasionally, the top of the mountain shows a little outline and disappears in a hurry.

All the way to the sea of clouds and forests, people can't help but imagine. Perhaps the ancient ocean is another form of Fan Jingshan today.

In Proterozoic about 800 million years ago, Fan Jing was still a Wang Yang. Later, this ancient land in the south rose, becoming the earliest ancient land south of the Yellow River in China, rising from the sea to the land.

Then after several geological tectonic movements lasting hundreds of millions of years, it finally rose to become the highest peak of Wuling Mountain in Guizhou, Hubei, Hunan and Chongqing.

Climbing Fan Jingshan is like visiting a natural geological museum. The rock on the top of the mountain is slate which is metamorphic from sand and mudstone deposited in the ocean 800 million years ago, and igneous rocks formed by submarine volcanic eruption or magma intrusion are sandwiched in the middle of the mountain.

Steep peaks and valleys, towering stone pillars and columnar peaks are masterpieces of Quaternary glaciers and surface water, forming a special landscape of Fanjing Mountain, which together with Lin Tao and the sea of clouds constitutes a unique landscape of Fanjing Mountain.

Go straight along the mountain road. Near the top of the mountain, the trees became sparse, and with the wet fog, there was a feeling of darkness.

Laojinding was called Moon Mirror Mountain in ancient times, and it was named after the phenomenon of moon mirror on the rocks on the mountain. It is said that on a moonlit night, people can take clear images of themselves facing a slate on the ancient golden dome. These slates are hard and delicate, so it is not absurd to produce the phenomenon of moon mirror under certain air and light conditions.

Hundreds of millions of years of wind and rain have also carved peaks on the high mountain rocks in Laojinding, such as Mushroom Rock, Eagle Rock, thousands of books and Yin Tian. Clever and realistic. Especially the strange mushroom stone, standing on the platform of the old Jinding, is thick on the top and thin on the bottom, just like a giant mushroom, which is easy to fall down when touched. However, it has stood for hundreds of thousands of years, becoming a rare balance stone in mountain landscape, and is also regarded as a unique symbol of Fan Jingshan.

Adjacent to Qianshu Mushroom Stone are schist and slate strata of Banxi Group in Proterozoic, with gentle occurrence and well-developed columnar joints. For example, countless ancient books are neatly stacked and magnificent. The ancients had a poem saying: whoever keeps a jade axis, thousands of rolls are piled up at the beginning of the mixed generation; The land was robbed by Qin fire, and there are still unburned books in the famous mountains. This is a big unburned book, which has been written for more than 100 million years.

What attracts me more than the old Jinding is the adjacent Jinding of Wealth. The highest mountain in the world is the main peak, and the Phoenix Mountain, Hongyun Jinding and Laojinding arranged in sequence at the top of Fanjing Mountain are all above 2300 meters above sea level. The three mountains stand shoulder to shoulder, each with its own shape, which is difficult to distinguish. If you look at the landscape effect, Hongyun and Jinding seem to be better.

This 100-meter-high independent columnar mountain stands in the recess between Fenghuang Mountain and Laojinding. Although the altitude is slightly lower, it is towering and abrupt, with great visual impact, like a thumb like praise, and like a pagoda Turing Tower standing between heaven and earth, hidden in the clouds.

Climbing the zigzag steps under the red cloud and gold roof can not help but be full of reverence and awe.

At the foot are slippery steps with a wall hanging on one side. We can only climb the chain on the narrow and steep cliff and crawl forward.

After the Guanyin cave in the middle, there was only a moment of breathing. However, I looked up and saw that the mountain was divided into two halves from top to bottom, called Golden Knife Gorge, and the narrowest place could only pass sideways and climb the stone steps like a ladder.

Climbing to the top of the mountain, I saw a stone arch bridge flying in the air, connecting the left and right halves of the mountain. There are Sakyamuni Buddha Hall and Maitreya Buddha Hall on the top of the two temples, and there are stone slabs and huge stones stacked like scrolls behind each temple. Not to mention how clean the Buddha sky is in the clouds, just how the building materials for building Buddhist temples and arch bridges are transported is enough to make people marvel and daydream.

This magical place created by natural and man-made forces stands proudly in the sky, making the world independent and bringing chivalry and heroism to Fan Jing. Standing at the top of the pole, feeling refreshed, I unconsciously pieced together several poems like this:

The top of Mount Fanshan supports the vast sky. Climbing to the top today, I dare to laugh at Daiyue Hengzong.

Phoenix Mountain behind the Red Jin Feng, with an altitude of 2,572 meters, is the highest peak in Fan Jing, and also has many geological and cultural landscapes. However, because the mountain is too dangerous, the mountain road is deep in grass and dense forest, so it is impassable. Besides, it's foggy at night, so we have to hurry down the mountain.

Wanbaoyan on the Eastern Line witnessed the changes of land and sea.

The next day, we went to Fan Jing with another expedition, focusing on a geological relic called Wanbaoyan.

Enter from the east gate and take the shuttle bus to Yu 'ao in the mountains. This is a regular tourist route. There are two ways to climb mountains. If you go up the mountain along the ten thousand-step ladder, you can cross four vertical climate zones along the way, and you can see rare plants such as hemlock, fir and Davidia involucrata. Maybe you can meet the unique Guizhou golden monkey in Fan Jing, but it needs enough time and endurance.

It is completely different from the slate at the top of Fanjing Mountain. Wanbao rock looks like concrete. There are many large and small gravels cemented in the sandstone and argillaceous structure inside, and countless mysteries are buried under the rough surface. This book is a Proterozoic bottom conglomerate with relatively young horizontal strata.

Fanjingshan area experienced intense compression deformation, crustal uplift and orogeny, which lifted the deep seabed rocks to the peak of more than 2000 meters and formed a steep gravel footwall. Wanbaoyan is the evidence of this land-sea change. Jingshan has fertile soil and dense vegetation. Few rocks are exposed except the top of the mountain, so Wanbao Rock is particularly prominent and important.

Wanbaoyan is still a miniature biosphere, full of miracles of life. Dozens of plants such as fungi, lichens, mosses, ferns and seeds can be found only on the shady side of the stone, which is easy to observe. It can be seen that Fan Jingshan's species gene bank is magical and vast.

Fan Jing is a wonderful work on natural geology and a unique picture scroll, which shows the unique and original geological beauty to the world.

Its strata and rocks are ancient, its geological structure is superimposed in multiple periods, and its alpine glaciers and landforms are diverse and magnificent. This masterpiece is profound and magical, which fascinates countless visitors.

Going down the mountain through Yu 'ao, you can see the swift Heibei River, with waterfalls on both sides, and the scene is spectacular. The pebbles in the river vary in size, and some have been smooth and round after a long period of water impact; Some still have sharp edges and corners after falling into the water. Have a plenty of stones falling from the top of the mountain; Some are the result of river cutting bedrock, mixed with ancient pillow basalt.

These stones, like ancient firs and Davidia involucrata in the mountains, have been honed by years. Fan Jingshan will always be their home and will always exist. Looking at Yuntai from the golden roof.
