How to use the camera polarizer?

Polarizer, also called polarizer, or CPL for short, can selectively let the light that vibrates in a certain direction pass through, which is used to eliminate or weaken the strong reflection of nonmetallic surfaces in photography, thus eliminating or reducing the light spots.

(1) Installation and use

Polarizers are round and square.

Installation and use of the round mirror: Before installing the polarizer, remove the UV mirror or protective mirror installed on the lens, then slowly screw the CPL on the front end of the lens and make sure it is tight, then aim at the scene to be shot and rotate the polarizer until the clearest and suitable angle is found for shooting.

Please see the picture below:

Installation and use of square polarizer: add square filter bracket, insert square CPL from top to bottom, turn the small thread on the side, adjust the angle of polarizer, and enter shooting.

Please see the picture below:

(B) the role of polarizer

(1) Eliminate the reflected light from nonmetallic surfaces, such as lakes and glass.

(2) Increase the color saturation to make the blue sky bluer, the green leaves greener and the white clouds whiter.

(3) Make the rainbow and reflection more obvious and colorful.

(4) It can be used as a reducing mirror (ND mirror) to reduce the light by one step.

(5) Reduce the soft focus caused by large aerosol in landscape photos, but do not change the color balance of the whole picture.

(3) appreciation of case movies

(1) the first group

Polarizer makes the reef clearer and more textured;

(2) the second group

The polarizer weakens the reflection of the glass panel and makes the contents of the clock clearer;

(3) the third group

The polarizer eliminates the reflection of the water surface and makes the underwater scene clearly visible;
