Bajiaozhai "Whales make waves in the sea".

Bajiaozhai is located in Langshan Town, Xinning County, Hunan Province and Meixi Town, Ziyuan County, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is a world natural heritage and a national 5A-level tourist attraction. For many years, I have been walking between this mountain peak and the canyon, chasing running streams and waterfalls with my camera. I have to say that Bajiaozhai is a scenic spot worth visiting in my life.

In the notebook of my life, I can find traces of climbing it countless times. At that time, climbing Bajiaozhai was mainly from Hunan, and the path was very simple, so it was extremely laborious to climb up. It is very difficult to climb 1708 steps from the foot of the mountain to reach a barren hill at the junction of Hunan and Guangxi. In order to facilitate tourists to enter and leave the scenic spot, we have now optimized the trail, built a new cableway, took the cableway up the mountain and walked down the mountain to see the scenery. This combination is the best way to visit Bajiaozhai.

When you get on the ropeway, as it continues to climb, the strange peaks, mounds, walls, curtains, nests and columns that can't be seen on the flat ground have gradually changed. Some are like small fish, some are like dolphins, and some are like stupid turtles ...

Bajiaozhai is an alpine platform. Eight towering stone peaks, commonly known as the Eight Dragons. The main peak is Yuntai Mountain, named Yuntai Mountain. In the past, there were always fierce bandits, but now there are some historical sites on the top of the mountain. After getting off the ropeway, you can climb to the top of Yuntai Mountain in ten minutes after passing the watershed of "one foot in two provinces". Boarding Yuntai Mountain Scenic Area, I can't help but feel relaxed and happy. Looking at the northwest, green mountains and green slopes. Those stone peaks are like green snails, guarding between canyons. Looking at the southwest, there are a group of peaks, like waves. Groups of stones face the same direction, like whales just jumping out of the sea, dancing and playing, being chased by the waves. This is the spectacle of "whales making waves". Their peaks are covered with lush shrubs, as if wearing straw hats.

The best time to watch the spectacle of "Whales Roaring the Sea" is after seven o'clock in the morning. If there was a thunderstorm the night before, the temperature difference between day and night would be great the next day. When the sun breaks and the dawn dawns, smoke clouds as thin as gauze and as transparent as cicadas will form between heaven and earth, canyons and peaks. Those clouds around Feng Dan, floating in the wind. Stone peaks in the clouds, like whales swimming in the sea, wander in the haze.

There are smoke clouds in Bajiaozhai every season, and the best season to watch Whales in the Sea is autumn. At this time, the leaves on the top of the mountain are brilliant red, beige, light green, turquoise, crimson purple, earthy gray, yellow brown and so on. Rich in color, alternating in color and rhythm, dotted on the stone peak, forming a very strong color difference. Moreover, the concentration of smoke clouds in autumn is high, which can generally cover the neck of the stone peak and expose the stone peak, thus forming a real "whale making trouble with the sea."

The steepest corner of Bajiaozhai is the famous "dragon head incense", and its peak is like a cocked horn. Mountain winds roar here all the year round, surrounded by steep cliffs and deep valleys. This is the photographer's favorite place. Burning dragon head incense must be climbed by local villagers. Most people can't reach the dragon head, so they must be sincere and not impatient. The ridge path is less than 5 inches wide, and the user uses his hands and feet to put his chest on the rock and crawl forward. Just at the top of this extremely dangerous corner, there is a small mountain temple, and another dangerous corner extends to a wide field, which is called "Snake Cliff" here.

Yuntai Temple in Bajiaozhai has a history of 1000 years. This thousand-year-old temple has been rebuilt many times. What we are seeing now is the reconstruction of Langshan Mountain in Hunan in 2009 when it declared the World Natural Heritage. The whole ancient temple stands at the second peak of Bajiaozhai. Standing in the temple, you can overlook the vast countryside and villages, listening to chickens crowing and dogs barking in the distance. According to the staff of Langshan Scenic Area, the building materials of the ancient temple are difficult to transport because the top of the mountain is too steep and there are no roads. This ancient temple took more than a year to build so beautifully, and the Buddha statues dedicated to it are lifelike. In addition to many Buddha statues, there are sculptures by Yang Zaixing, a famous anti-gold star who was born in Langshan and went out with Yue Fei. He and other monks silently guarded the local villagers. Villagers and tourists often come here to worship, and Yuntai Temple is full of incense. In addition to these, the most amazing thing is that there is a well water in the backyard of Yuntai Temple that has not dried up for thousands of years. Under the guidance of an old monk, we found the well, and the old monk quickly pumped up the water from the well for everyone to taste. It's really cool, like drinking sweet.
