Adults appear in April and July and spend the winter as pupae attached to cocoons on branches.
The species of this genus mainly feed on Liquidambar formosana, pine trees or similar trees. Like all kinds of silkworm moths, the adults of Lycopodium have no functional mouthparts and cannot eat after pupation, and usually have a life span of only a few days to a week.
