Knowledge of SLR lenses-SLR lens maintenance skills

What are the basic knowledge of SLR lenses? When it comes to the classification of SLR lenses, it means professional photography, professional positioning, and cost-effective products. Below I will introduce the classification and cleaning of SLR lenses. Method, everyone is welcome to read and refer to it!

Classification of SLR lenses

The first type: wide-angle lens

The wide-angle lens is shot at a focal length of 35mm, you can choose more The lower the range value, the lower it is. If the value is lower than 28mm, it is called an ultra-wide-angle lens. The ultra-wide-angle lenses currently on the market are all controlled within the range of 16mm. The wide-angle lens is suitable for the most professional and top photography talents. Choose a lens with strong focusing function and capture. It is more realistic and effective when taking pictures of scenery, so you don’t miss any wonderful moments.

The second type: standard lens

The focal length is between 50mm and 85mm. The focal length closest to the human eye is 50mm. It is also called a masthead. It is difficult to use a masthead well. Unlike super wide-angle and macro lenses, you can use the human eye to feel the picture through debugging. Such lenses cannot accurately capture small or even long-distance things. For portraits, It is recommended that you choose 85mm for shooting, which is the best distance and most accurate positioning.

The third type: medium telephoto lens

Medium telephoto lens is generally between 100mm and 135mm. 135mm is full-frame shooting, and the sensor size is 35mm*35mm. This The lens design has a wide range of focal lengths. For dynamic birds, even small static gaps can be captured and photographed. Enthusiasts who are new to SLRs can choose.

The fourth type: Telephoto lens

The focal length generally appears at 200mm. It is a good choice not only for capturing dynamic photos, but also for shooting stills. However, the telephoto lens is very heavy. big. It is inconvenient to use and does not have anti-shake function.

Tips for cleaning and maintaining SLR lenses

1. Install UV mirror:

In order to protect the lens, you usually bring a UV mirror with you when purchasing the lens ( mounted on the outside of the lens). UV mirrors can protect our lenses from being contaminated by sand and dust, and some UV mirrors are also helpful for shooting (such as ND mirrors).

2. Install a hood:

In addition to installing a UV mirror, a hood is usually installed outside the lens. The lens hood not only prevents the lens from bringing in too much light and ultraviolet rays when shooting, but also gives the lens a buffer when it falls, protecting the lens from too much impact.

3. Put on the lens cap:

It is best to put the lens cap on when you are not using the lens, or put it in the camera bag. Although it is protected by a UV mirror, the UV mirror will also get dirty, so it is better to cover the lens cover honestly.

4. Note on usage:

Never touch the reflector, image sensor or any other parts inside the camera with your hands. Handle the camera with care and develop a good habit of hanging it around your neck. After shooting, carefully wipe the dust on the surface of the camera with a soft and clean cloth in a timely manner. Turn off the power switch when inserting or removing the memory card. Regularly check the needle holes or contacts of the memory card for foreign matter.

5. Clean the lens regularly:

The maintenance of the lens should be carried out according to the principles of blowing, wiping, washing and protecting, that is, the lens should be kept clean at all times. If it is accidentally soiled, please First use a blower brush/blower to remove dust, then wipe it gently with a soft and clean cloth. If it is still not clean, you can use lens paper dipped in a little lens cleaning fluid and wipe it gently. If there is dust inside the camera, please do not dismantle it yourself. Please send it to a professional shop for repair.

6. Reduce the number of times you take off the lens:

Try to reduce the number of times you take off the lens. When changing the lens, it is easy for dirt to enter the inside of the camera. When changing the lens, be sure to turn off the power of the camera and avoid strong light and dusty environments. It is best to do it indoors or in a car. Try to avoid changing it in the wild. When changing the lens, the body bayonet should be facing down.

SLR cameras cannot be stored in hot and humid places. Try to store them in a dry and ventilated place or in a drying box, or put some desiccant in the camera bag to keep the humidity in the box at 35%- 40%. Do not put the camera in the trunk of the car at ordinary times to prevent damage to the camera caused by low or high temperatures. If you need to shoot in rainy or snowy weather, please be prepared for waterproofing and try not to shoot in areas such as deserts.

If the lens is brought from a cold environment to a warm environment, condensation may occur on the lens surface and internal parts. In order to prevent condensation in this situation, you can first put the lens into a sealed plastic bag, and then take it out for use after the lens gradually warms up. Vice versa, please use the same method. Of course, a good quality camera bag is a good idea.
