Aojiao Village is a small fishing village in the southeast of Dongshan Island surrounded by the sea on three sides. There are two half-moon-shaped beaches in front and behind the village. The beaches are soft and calm, suitable for tourists to go to the beach to play in the water and ride the waves in summer. In addition, when you climb up to the Dachang Mountain in Aojiao Village, you can also see far into the distance: the vast sea shows islands dotted all over the place, and the sea and sky are the same color. It is a rare photography paradise.
Aojiao Village faces the sea on three sides, with two crescent-shaped bays in the north and south, forming a beautiful "X" shape. Four islands of dragon, tiger, lion and elephant are dotted among them, and it has the reputation of "sea zoo" , is a fishing village famous for its developed fishery production and beautiful natural scenery. It was awarded the title of "National Civilized Village" for three consecutive years in 2005, 2009 and 2011. In the past few years, it has been awarded the "Model Village for the Construction of a New Socialist Rural Area", "Green Well-off Village", "National Demonstration Village for Democracy and Legal System" and " "National Model Village for Loving People and Gubian" and "Top Ten Most Beautiful Villages in Zhangzhou".
1. It has a long history. The construction of the village began in the middle and late Ming Dynasty, and it has been more than 500 years. Damaoshan in the jurisdiction is the Neolithic Age site - Shell Mound Site, which witnesses the production and living conditions of human ancestors in Dongshan and the prehistoric cultural exchanges between Fujian and Taiwan. According to the records of Zhao'an County: "Damao Mountain is in the south of the Five Capitals, the highest point of Bopu Village. The Prime Minister Lu Xiufu of the Song Dynasty once helped the emperor to anchor his boat here." It is recorded that in the late Southern Song Dynasty, the Prime Minister Lu Xiufu and the young emperor fled here. historical events. At the end of the Ming Dynasty, the national hero Zheng Chenggong regained Taiwan and practiced naval training along the coast of southern Fujian. He once stationed a battalion of sailors here and dug a well on the beach of Deep Bay in Aojiao, which was known in history as the "Guoxing Well". During the Qing Dynasty, Aojiaowo was an important base for training, parking and supplying warships of General Shi Lang's detachment;
2. The scenery is natural and unique. Aojiao Village is surrounded by mountains and sea, with beautiful scenery and golden beaches stretching for dozens of miles. There is a crescent-shaped bay (Aojiao Bay and Wujiao Bay) in the north and south respectively, which presents a beautiful "X" shape. Four islands of dragon, tiger, lion and elephant are dotted among them, and it is known as the "Sea Zoo". The film and television industry has a keen eye and regards this place as a natural studio. A large number of film and television dramas such as "Panshiwan", "Kindness", "Widow's Village", "Thirteen Wells Area", "Qiu Jin" and so on have filmed their location here. Hong Kong Asia Television has also gone to Aojiao to shoot the scenery film "Wow, Aojiao". Famous writers Wang Meng, poets Cai Qijiao, Shu Ting and others have visited Aojiao many times to collect scenery, sketch and experience life;
3. The fishery is very developed. Integrating marine fishing, marine treasure breeding, and aquatic product processing, it currently has 220 trawlers, 38 abalone farms, 25 aquatic product processing companies, and 14 shipyards, machine repair shops, fishing net gear factories, and oil supply stations. In 2013, the total economic income of the village reached 511.75 million yuan, and the per capita net income was 26,040 yuan;
Among them, Fisherman's Wharf is famous far and wide. Whenever fishing boats dock, Fisherman's Wharf adds to the hustle and bustle. Boats loaded with fresh seafood are moored next to the pier. Fishermen pile the fish, shrimps, crabs, etc. they catch on the fishing boats for you to choose from. Many tourists come here specifically to buy seafood, and it is best to eat seafood and abalone here.
4. Strong cultural atmosphere. Well-known fishing village "cultural figures" such as fishermen poet Xu Haiqin, fishermen painter Chen Jieding, and fishermen sculptor Shen Xikun have emerged. There are Strait Art Museum and fishermen's poetry and photography exhibition hall.
