What are the differences between SAI, Painter and Photoshop

SAI is easy to use and has relatively complete functions. A major feature is that it takes up less space. Because it can be magnified many times, it is easy to handle details... Generally speaking, newcomers are the first to come into contact with this, but I still use it anyway. I have never used Painter, so I asked Du Niang. This software seems to be prepared for realists and photography enthusiasts... Photoshop, which is PS (you must have heard of it), has super powerful image processing functions! However, there are still some shortcomings when used for drawing. The magnification is not as high as that of SAI, and there is no hand shake correction of SAI... Although the function is very powerful, it is still very difficult to understand every button (it is already very difficult). Ah)

Since these softwares have free trials, you can download and install them, try out the brushes, and decide which one to use based on your brush preferences.

Just talking about the painting itself, I think the biggest difference between the software is the brush strokes, including color mixing, humidity, etc. (Although it can be changed in the brush settings, each company's algorithm is different after all). For example, I have been using sai all the time but I am not used to using ps...

Although the three softwares have different functions due to their different positioning, they are sufficient for drawing most things. Therefore, it is not necessary to learn a concept from which one, it is enough to learn and use one well.

Finally, let’s talk about functions and positioning:

Every version of PS has recently enhanced the painting function, and sooner or later the function of simulating traditional painting will surpass that of painter.

In addition, Painter is admittedly difficult to use, so I personally do not recommend Painter. But if you want to paint watercolors and oil paintings with relatively high requirements, you can only choose painter. Painter has invincible functions such as drying canvas...

CSP is more oriented to the public than pt and ps. Yes, the ex version also integrates a module for drawing comics. If you also care about drawing comics, you should definitely choose it. On the basis of SAI, a lot of functions have been added that can improve efficiency. In addition, it also has a rich online material library, 3D model library, and master tutorials. It is very easy for newcomers to Japanese painting style to get started (although I do not encourage just starting). Reference model)

SAI is true that its functions are simple and easy to learn and use. It may be very pleasing to do graffiti and so on, but it lacks many very useful tools/commands. If you want to do commercial drawing in the future, figure If there are many layers and modification points, sai will be depressed...and although sai can save psd, the blending mode like "glow" is unique to sai and will change in ps. Every time you change software, you must merge or overwrite it. The printing layer is a bit flawed. After getting used to the power of PS and CSP, when you go back to sai, you may feel sad that this function does not exist and that function does not exist. Among the other three software, SAI is the only one that does not have a MAC version.

Finally, let’s talk about the price

PS and PT have educational versions that can be purchased at low prices in China. Among them, PS has the most comprehensive functions. If you take into account both photography and design, it is very cost-effective

CSP does not seem to have an educational version, which is slightly more expensive, but Japanese illustrations/comics are the most targeted and have incomparable advantages.

sai only has English and Japanese versions. Although it is cheap, it is troublesome to authorize the purchase. And it has not been updated for 6 years.
