Maclehose trail, hong kong
When the bus arrived at Beitan 'ao Station, 28 of us put the big and heavy backpack on the floor of the carriage or held it in our arms, carefully bypassed other passengers and got off in a hurry. Behind us, the car door slowly closed and continued to carry other backpackers to their destination.
The place where we got off is a country park. Because it has not been deliberately transformed and developed, the park still maintains its original ecological appearance, with lush trees and overgrown weeds. In addition to the cement road that is open to traffic, there are forest paths formed by many people walking, toilets with blue roofs and a small cement open space. No other obvious traces of artificial construction are seen, which is quite different from the parks we usually see. The wild and primitive smell strongly attracted us. Everyone is rubbing their hands and twisting their legs to press their waist. After making sufficient warm-up preparations, they can't wait to start the challenge.
At this point, let me introduce the road we are going to take-Meriho Trail.
MacLehose Trail is named after Lord MacLehose, the 25th Governor of Hong Kong. Lord MacLehose is the longest-serving governor in the history of Hong Kong. During his administration, he carried out many drastic reforms, including the 10 housing construction plan, the development of new towns, the establishment of the Independent Commission Against Corruption, nine-year free education, the construction of underground railways and the reform of local administration. His reform measures have profoundly influenced and changed Hong Kong's economy and social life of Hong Kong people, and he is generally regarded as one of the most outstanding and beloved governors in history. As MacLehose loves hiking, to commemorate his contribution to Hong Kong, this is the longest hiking trail in the New Territories of Hong Kong. It's called maclehose trail.
MacLehose Trail, the most famous hiking trail in Hong Kong, was opened on126 October, 1979. Total length100km, divided into ten sections, each section is 5-16km. It starts in Pak Tam Chung, Sai Kung, bypasses High Island Reservoir, crosses the New Territories from east to west, and ends in Tuen Mun. The whole route spans eight country parks and more than 20 hills in Hong Kong. There are densely forested mountains, endless sea, endless coastline, yellow beaches, dark brown rocks, white cement roads and streams along the way, and the scenery is beautiful.
Because the Mai Lihao trail is long enough, the whole scenery is different, so every step of walking here will have different surprises. If you are lucky, you will meet a little wild boar running by the road. If it is sunny, the scenery along the way must be breathtaking, picturesque and more vibrant than painting. For people who love photography, it is also very interesting to take a tripod and a SLR, choose one or two paragraphs, set up camp and shoot for a day and a night. Of course, this is really a very suitable place for friends who like camping. No matter sunrise or sunset, Xinghai, jungle streams, beaches and mountains will not fall; When I fall asleep at night, the sky is bright above my head, and my ears are filled with magnificent sounds, which are steady and romantic.
