Is there any website in China that can replace flickr?
Flickr's community characteristics are very profound, and it is some of them that make it so successful today. Group function is a simple way to participate in Flickr community. Teams usually operate around a theme, which is usually related to the location where the photos were taken or the equipment they used. You can share your pictures in the group gallery or participate in group discussions in the forum.
Of course, some restrictions on Flickr's free account reduce its usability. If you use a free account, you can only upload pictures of 100M every month. This is just a bandwidth limitation, not the space on the Flickr server.
Flickr also allows you to create special events or just albums that you want to put together. I have created photo albums, such as the 2007 Tour of Georgia and the 2007 NORBA Mountaineering Final. Free accounts can only create 3 albums.
If you spend $24.95 a year to upgrade to a professional account, you can get more:
Unlimited upload (maximum per sheet 10M)
Infinite storage
Infinite bandwidth
Infinite album
Permanently store high-resolution original images.
Replace picture
Upload your pictures to up to 60 groups at will.
Browse and share without advertising.
Considering what you can get, this is a good deal. For some reason, I never upgraded. Maybe it's because Smugmug is one of my service choices. Before upgrading, let's take a look at other alternatives to Flickr.
DeviantART is probably the least Flickr-like substitute. Look at what's popular recently, DeviantART.
As you can see, DeviantART is more like an art community than a photo sharing website. This is a very active community, with a large number of chat rooms and forums to chat with. You can even find a forum dedicated to reporting plagiarism.
Some missions of DeviantART:
Most importantly, we intend to take the time to take the right action. For the first time in history, artists and lovers exchanged and communicated on a large scale. DeviantART has made a breakthrough in promoting and displaying troubled non-mainstream artists in all corners of the world. Our task is to find out the true meaning of competence and submit it to a responsible manager.
DeviantART offers free and optional membership. The optional membership fee is $29.95 per year, which can be upgraded several times:
Provide a deviation of up to 120 steps when browsing.
Ad-free browsing
You can always go back 2000 steps when browsing.
Customize 20 programs on the home page
Download pictures to your phone through deviantMOBILE.
Make magazines through voting, forums, shouting modules and even CSS.
If you have crazy Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator technology, or use other software to process a large number of your pictures, then DeviantART community may be designed for you.
Zooomr reminds me of Flickr in many places. It has many similar photo sharing functions as Flickr, such as smart photo albums (imagine Flickr photo albums, but smarter) and groups. In addition, you can use Zooomr to get unlimited bandwidth, and storage, uploading and ... are free. Zooomr has a feature that Flickr doesn't have: Zipline. Basically, Zipline allows you to keep in touch with your friends and keep abreast of what they are doing. Uploading through Zooomr is also very simple. The interface is as intuitive as Mac, and you will get very friendly and concise visual feedback while uploading files one by one.
Professional accounts can also be obtained at Zooomr. When the unlimited picture sharing option doesn't satisfy you, you will get some social enhancements in Zooomr.
Compared with what we have seen on Flickr in the past, Zooomr has more freedom in censorship: (the company refers to Zooomr)
Data that can identify individual users will not be stored in countries with network restrictions, and the legal systems of these countries consider political speech a crime.
The company will not participate in the active review.
The company will use all legal means to resist censorship. If there are legally binding regulations, the company can only comply with them.
When users try to access content that the company agrees to filter or review according to government laws, they must be clearly informed.
Users must be clearly informed of the company's data storage program and how to share user data with third parties.
The company must provide all documents required by the legally binding review system to meet the requirements of the terms and conditions, and these documents are publicly accessible.
If Zooomr seems to be your type, please register and add me as a contact.
Fotki seems to be really trying to beat Flickr and may win in some areas. Although Fotki is easy to use, the first thing to mention is that it has many unique and overwhelming winning options. A very popular and prominent feature of the homepage is that it provides unlimited photo storage host space for websites, blogs, emails and auctions.
For sharing, the free account has some restrictions, only 50M storage space. By transferring to a professional account of $30, you can get unlimited storage space to store your shared pictures. In addition, users who pay extra fees can use Fotki as a sales platform, and Fotki only charges a commission of% 15 of your set price. In addition, Fotki is one of the few photo storage websites that provide FTP access for members.
You can order a 4X6 photo of yourself from Fotki for only $0.09. And there are always many photo competitions going on for members to participate in. Every user who pays extra can get a magazine, which is essentially the blog of Fotki users.
PBase does not provide a free account. 23 dollars can get 500MB storage space every year, and 60 dollars can get 1500MB storage space every year. Additional storage space can be added in 500MB increments at any time. You can create any number of picture libraries among the pictures stored on the PBase server.
PBase provides StatCounter counting, Google Analytics analysis and extreme tracking services for each of your galleries. Of course, there are PBase forums where users can participate. PBase users also publish a professional magazine, aptly named PBase Magazine, which has a very cool history.
I have never used PBase, but I have seen many users of photography forums who are fans of PBase. It gives me the feeling that it is an admirable community (for example, like an "Apple fan"), so you will understand. If you know more about this, please feel free to leave a comment.
Photobucket is a photo and video management website. It allows one-click publishing to MySpace, Facebook, Friendster and Xanga. Obviously aimed at social media users. You can use Photobucket to create photo slides and video mashups.
The space limit of images and video clips for free accounts is 1GB. Considering the current screen size, this is not much. In addition, the free account has a monthly bandwidth limit of 25GB. This is a lot of bandwidth for pictures. However, if you store a lot of video clips there, I can't guarantee how long your pictures will last.
Note for free users:
The uploaded image must be less than 1MB. You can upload 17 inch (1024 x 768 pixels) pictures, regardless of the file size. The image will be resized to fit the limitations of Photobucket.
The length of the uploaded video must be less than 5 minutes or less than 100MB. Videos longer than 5 minutes will be truncated to fit the length limit of Photobucket.
For Photobucket's strip, show and collage slide show services, each slide show can only load 10 images at the same time. For Photobucket's stamp service, load 4 to 16 sheets according to the selected image size.
This is too strict a restriction for anyone who takes photography seriously. However, you can get a professional account for $25 a year, which will bring you 5GB of storage space and "unmeasurable" bandwidth (presumably, this means infinity). Professional users also have FTP upload function. The image size is increased to 5MB. Canon 5D users don't need to complain here (the RAW images converted by my Rebel XT often exceed 5MB).
Generally speaking, if you post low-quality pictures on social media pages or personal blogs, Photobucket is a great website; However, it is best for a real photographer to pay an annual fee for Flickr or other substitutes.
Photo.net and fleek are very different. Flickr is more like an integrated service, while Photo.net is more suitable for professional photographers. This is a huge community composed of amateurs and professional photographers, who have different technical levels and photographic experience.
You can upload your photos to others for comments and advice. Similarly, you can also comment and point out the works of other photographers. You have your own gallery to publish pictures. If you donate $20 a year, you will get more functions.
In addition, you can participate in (and manage) every active forum. In the past few years, I have learned a lot from photo.net. When I need advice on a specific material, I will still browse the forum and ask some temporary questions. If you are new to photography or want to know more, photo.net may be a good online resource.
SmugMug is my personal favorite website for sharing and storing pictures. It has no free plan to choose from; But it's definitely worth it to me. Basic users are $39.95 per year. The enhanced user account is $59.95 per year. Professional account 149.95 USD per year. You can see the difference in their functions here.
SmugMug kept four copies of each picture in three states. Every account has unlimited storage space. You can view your pictures without logging in, and there is no spam. Several times I needed to contact support, and they found me in a few minutes and gave me a real answer.
Professional users (I am one) have the ability to sell maps and set their own prices. I didn't buy many pictures; However, I shared a lot. I use SmugMug to share pictures with friends and family on this blog. I can create a private photo library, or a password-protected photo library, and even limit the number of pictures that others can see. SmugMug also allows you to use right-click protection to prevent excessive use of download tools. I know there's a way to break through it, but it's not as easy as in Flickr.
The quality of printed photos obtained from SmugMug is surprisingly good. The print source is EZ printer, and you can also choose to use the automatic enhancement function or use your own true color adjustment. Although it is not as good as that provided by MyPhotopipe.com, it is much better than the inferior products printed by Wal-Mart.
If you think SmugMug's more beautiful photos are your favorite, you can save $5 by using this code (7jCtURK05RxCQ) in the "Citation" section of the registration column, no matter what type of account you register. (Disclosure: I will also get some benefits. )
conclusion
The purpose of this article is not to grab Flickr users, but to share some slightly different websites with you. I like Flickr. My Flickr account is longer than other web-based photo accounts/members. In other words, I hope this article will open your eyes and see some useful alternatives to Flickr. This is by no means an exhaustive list of all photo sharing websites. If you are using other websites, please feel free to write down your comments and tell us what makes this website a useful substitute for Flickr.
