Isn't breast milk the best food for babies? Why is there iron deficiency anemia? Of course, breast milk is the best baby food. However, if you only breastfeed for more than 6 months, the probability of iron deficiency anemia will increase, so you should supplement iron-rich non-staple food. Others include: 1 1 the benefits of breastfeeding, 9 important concepts of breastfeeding, and 9 steps to effectively start and continue breastfeeding. You should know that you love your baby the most!

Hao is a quiet 1 year-old boy with fair skin and slender figure. The reason why he was admitted to our hospital ward this time was acute gastroenteritis. He has been having diarrhea, and he is sick all over. Haohao's mother is a Vietnamese woman. She is also fair-skinned, speaks softly, wears plain clothes, and is very respectful and polite to medical staff.

Haohao's father is a worker, and he was hardly seen to visit or take care of him during his hospitalization. His Vietnamese mother said that he worked long hours and often worked at night. I only met him once and left in a hurry wearing only work clothes.

Haohao acute gastroenteritis has recovered well. During his hospitalization, he was given a drip to supplement nutrition, and later his physical strength recovered a lot. Every time he made rounds, he was very clever and quietly played with toys, while his mother stood quietly and bowed 90 degrees when she saw the doctor coming.

I didn't expect that the reason for this hospitalization was acute gastroenteritis, but in the blood routine test report, we found that Haohao's blood test report had other abnormalities. We found that his hemoglobin was abnormally low and he even had iron deficiency anemia. After asking Haohao's mother about his diet in detail, I found that her mother only breastfed. By the time Haohao/Kloc-0 was over, she had rarely fed him other non-staple foods.

Possible causes of sudden infant death Breast milk is of course the best baby food, and it is also the only perfect and complete food designed for human babies in nature. But when a normal and healthy full-term baby is born, the iron stored in the body is usually only enough for the baby's body to use for 4 to 6 months. If you only breastfeed for more than 6 months, the probability of iron deficiency anemia will increase, so you should supplement iron-rich non-staple food about 6 months.

Many novice mothers will read parenting books by themselves, go to their mother's classroom to do their homework, and even have health education from medical staff during regular birth check-ups. However, Vietnamese mothers and busy workers' fathers are relatively weak groups in society. Because of language barriers and cultural factors, they cannot successfully acquire a lot of parenting knowledge that we take for granted in society.

When we tried to explain Haohao's situation to the mother, she also understood. It seems that it is very hard for her to feed Haohao with breast milk, and she has enough milk. Why is there serious iron deficiency anemia? Isn't breast milk the best food for babies?

Parents must know that the baby is the best gift from God to their parents, and for the baby, the mother's milk is also the best gift from God. 02 contains immunoglobulin, which can help the baby resist infection and reduce the incidence of many diseases, including respiratory infection and otitis media, gastrointestinal infection, necrotizing enteritis, inflammatory intestinal diseases and so on.

Studies have shown that breast milk can reduce the incidence of many childhood diseases, such as obesity, sudden infant death syndrome, diabetes, leukemia and so on.

Breast milk is most easily digested and absorbed by babies, and its absorption and utilization rate is also high.

Enhance the parent-child relationship, and the baby will gain a sense of security and intimacy.

07 is more economical, reducing the expenses of milk powder and bottle supplies.

Breastfeeding can promote the contraction of mother's uterus and shorten the recovery time.

1 1 research shows that breastfeeding can reduce the risk of breast cancer, ovarian cancer and osteoporosis.

Nine important concepts of breastfeeding 1. For full-term normal newborns, breast milk is the best source of nutrition.

2. It is best for parents to breastfeed, especially in the first 2 months.

3. It is best to breastfeed as soon as possible after birth, and continue to breastfeed exclusively until the baby is 4 to 6 months old.

4. exclusive breast-fed babies do not need to replenish water unless they lose a lot of water, but they are not absolutely unable to drink water.

5. The nutrition of breast milk is not suitable for "pure" feeding for more than 6 months. It should be 4 to 6 months old. It is necessary to start adding non-staple foods rich in trace elements such as iron, and then it is recommended to continue breastfeeding until at least 1 year.

Non-staple food containing iron and zinc can be added in 6.4 ~ 6 months. Before using non-staple food after 4 months, oral iron 1mg/kg/ day should be supplemented every day.

7. It is recommended that babies who are exclusively breastfed to 4 ~ 6 months should take 400IU vitamin D supplements orally every day from 4 months until they start to use solid food.

8. If you continue "pure" breastfeeding for more than 6 months, and there is no other suitable non-staple food supplement, the baby will have a crisis of malnutrition.

9./kloc-After 0/year old, you can continue breastfeeding according to the wishes and needs of both mother and baby, and there is no age limit.

Nine steps! It is a difficult road to start and continue effective breastfeeding, especially for professional women, who need to adhere to and fix their ideas. There are some small steps: 1. From the moment the baby is born, it should be in direct contact with the mother's skin until the first breastfeeding is completed.

2. If necessary, some routine procedures can be postponed, such as measuring the baby's weight and height, taking a bath, blood test, preventive injection, preventive eye medication, etc. Until the end of your first breastfeeding.

3. When necessary, intramuscular injection of vitamin K can be postponed until the first breast feeding is completed, but it should be completed within 6 hours after birth.

4. Ensure that there are 8 ~ 12 kisses every 24 hours.

Please have professionally trained and experienced nursing staff to help confirm the mother's feeding posture and whether the baby contains milk smoothly.

6. Unless the baby has some illness (such as hypoglycemia), the mother should not feed other foods, such as glucose water, water, formula milk and other liquid foods, to the breast-fed newborn.

7. Baby can use pacifier when sleeping on his back, but it should not be earlier than 3 ~ 4 weeks. Avoid long-term or postpartum routine use of pacifiers, and consider using them after breastfeeding is established.

8. It is suggested that mothers and newborns share the same room, but not the same bed, so as not to increase the possibility of sudden infant death syndrome.

9. It is recommended that all breast-fed newborns be evaluated and examined by pediatricians within 2 weeks to observe whether there is jaundice, normal weight change, excretion and dehydration.

Doctor-patient win-win situation! These methods are very important for effectively starting and maintaining breastfeeding, but they are very hard for mothers! For example, when a baby is born, it is necessary to try breastfeeding. Even if it is a caesarean section, some tired and painful mothers will give up.

In addition, after giving birth to the baby, the mother who has exhausted her physical and mental strength will be in the room with her baby for 24 hours, surrounded by the baby who wants to drink milk day and night, which is also a great physical load for her! But it is worthwhile for mothers to realize the benefits and importance of breast milk to their babies.

However, if the mother's physical strength is not enough, it is still necessary to communicate and discuss with the medical staff, establish an effective supervision system, take care of the baby's health and safety at any time, and actively monitor and modify the situation that may bring risks to the baby at any time. After all, the success of breastfeeding is great, but it is more important to maintain the safety of your baby!
