How to light the product photography

Product shooting is a part of commercial product advertising shooting, mainly taking commodities as the main shooting object, so how to shoot the lighting of product photography?

1, the most common and commonly used is three-point lighting, that is, three or more different light sources, including "main light", "supplementary light" and "backlight light", are used to create a three-dimensional sense of the subject and show the original characteristics of the subject.

2. The first key light. Brighten the shoelaces on the right side of the camera, cooperate with the oversized long soft light cover, and then fine-tune the angle to present the brand badge on the shoes. The photometric output of this lamp is the highest among the three light sources, and the luminous angle is equal to the plane of the shoelace part, so as to avoid the excessive shadow inside and outside the shoelace caused by flashing light.

3. The second fill light. Highlighting the relief pattern on the left side of the camera near the heel is intended to use the characteristics of highlights to enhance the concave-convex feeling of the relief pattern. Long soft mask is also used to create soft light effect and reduce light ratio. However, the photometric output is relatively weaker than the main light, which increases the three-dimensional sense of vision.

4. The third backlight. The third light source uses a beam tube to focus the light source with the lowest output among the three light sources on the yellow part of the vamp, and at the same time hooks the vamp out of the black background for later use. The use of beam tube can effectively focus the light source on a specific position and create a strong focusing effect, which is a light control weapon for shooting small subjects. This kind of backlight, also known as contour light, outlines the outline of the subject.

5. In the later stage, use the professional photo processing software Capture One to fine-tune the accurate color temperature and contrast between light and shade, and then remove the black background in Adobe Photoshop and put it in an online background. Finally, two layers with different light and dark are used to simulate the lithography of the background.

6. Of course, the handling of the above false background is limited by the site background. No matter how skilled a photographer or retoucher is in PS technology, the preliminary work is equally important.
