Comments on Lucy in the Sky: Natalie Portman was inspired by reality to play an astronaut love triangle.

Warning: "Lucy in the sky"

A few seconds after the release of Lucy in the Sky, film director Noah Hawley made the audience realize that it was based on real events. Unless you are familiar with the story of Lisa Novak, a former astronaut of NASA in 2007, this latest space movie may not be what you expected.

Just an introduction: Novak, a former commander of the US Navy and an astronaut of NASA, went to the International Space Station on the STS- 12 1 mission of the space shuttle Discovery in July 2006 and spent 12 days in space. In 2004, she began to have an affair with former space shuttle pilot Bill O'Flynn. Ophelian is divorced, but Novak is still married.

In February, 2007, after O'Flynn ended his relationship with Air Force Captain Colleen shipman, Novak clashed with his rival in the parking lot of Orlando International Airport. She was arrested and subsequently accused of attempting to kidnap shipman. Novak finally pleaded guilty to petty theft and assault on June 5438+065438+ 10, 2009, and was suspended for one year.

Lucy in the sky is considered to be based on this story. This is not what you expected, is it? The trailer for Lucy in the Sky quoted Michael collins and Orion of Apollo 1 1.

Returning to our daily life after seeing our planet from orbit is a struggle of astronaut Lucy Cora (played by Natalie Portman) in the new space thriller Lucy in the Sky (Fox Searchlight picture), but the names of the characters are different, some specific details have changed, and many elements in Novak's story have been incorporated. Sadly, you may also know an element of this story. Many tabloids around the world choose to pay attention to it. It is said that Novak traveled long distances from Houston to Orlando with adult diapers to fight shipman. (Nowak denied this statement. Thankfully, this detail was ignored in the film.

Lucy Cora, played by Natalie Portman, is based on Novak, and she plays it very well. Jon hamm plays astronaut Mark Goodwin, who is based on Ofelin-who here doesn't want to fall in love with Ham in a triangle? The film benefited from the all-round star performance of the cast, including Dan Stevens as Lucy's husband; Ellen burstyn plays Lucy's grandmother; Pearl Amanda Dixon plays their daughter; Zazi Bates plays a role based on shipman. Nick offerman and Teague Notaro also played two great guest roles.

Perhaps the biggest criticism of this film is that it further encourages the prejudice of heroic men and emotional women of the so-called "science school" type. Although movies describing historic space missions obviously cannot avoid the fact that the astronauts of Mercury, Gemini and Apollo are all white, in the near future, many core figures in science fiction are indeed variants of XY chromosomes: Brad Pitt in Astra, Matt Damon in Martians and even sam rockwell in The Moon. However, there are obvious exceptions, including sandra bullock in Gravity, Jodie Foster in Hollow Man and Signy Weaver in Alien.

Retired astronaut marsha ivins refuted the film. She questioned why this rare story about a female astronaut chose to make a person lose his mind. This is what Lucy in the sky is going to do and be found guilty. Evans also criticized the premise of this conspiracy and denied the saying that "it has long been thought that astronauts began to lose control of reality after spending a long time in space."

Related: Former astronaut Lisa Novak's naval career has surpassed that in the movie.

Coca-Cola was so fascinated by her space trip that her view on everything changed forever. Looking down at our fragile blue-green planet from 254 miles, this indescribable experience simply surprised her mind. Her experience is not like post-traumatic stress disorder, but more like stepping into the panoramic whirlpool in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (this is a phone booth-sized machine that shows unlimited creativity to people who step into it. The vastness of the universe and the realization that they actually have little influence on everything have put the poor man into a state of insanity. )

Therefore, when she returned to earth, Coke tried to adapt to normal and ordinary daily life. Eva's incredible experience (called spacewalk by NASA) and watching the sunrise and sunset on the earth's surface every 90 minutes will anesthetize her.

Her reaction to space is not beyond the scope of credibility. Being able to see our small apartment in the universe-and the endless dark ocean in which it is located-will undoubtedly have an impact. Therefore, it is understandable that Coca-Cola feels extremely humble and more energetic than before.

After returning to Earth, Coca-Cola resumed her job at NASA and began to train for her next mission. Understandably, she is eager to get back there as soon as possible. If it weren't for Goodwin, Hamm's handsome man, she might finally be able to control her emotions. He flirted madly with Coke, and Coke found that this new source of excitement was a substitute, which led to the release of all serotonin, giving her a feeling of excitement and making her feel a bit like her experience in space. The relationship between the two people escalated and soon became an affair, becoming more and more nervous. Naturally, Goodwin has no skin on his nose because he has never been married again.

Portman's performance was excellent, and her southern accent was easy to hear. Therefore, if you have ever experienced intense, * * *, whirlwind love happiness/pain, you can sympathize with Coke, because this series of unfortunate events happened at the completely wrong time.

Unfortunately, things have not improved at all. Coca-Cola has to face the inevitable guilt. Her grandmother died, and there was a training accident in the neutral buoyancy laboratory. She withdrew from the astronaut selection. Of course, she knows that Goodwin is working with another attractive young astronaut (Bitz) because … he can. No wonder this poor woman was exposed.

So far, Lucy in the sky has not received much positive comments. At the time of writing this article, it only got 4.6 points on IMDb, but frankly, compared with the recent Astra advertisement.

I like it better. It marks the debut of Noah Hawley's feature film director. His background used to be limited to TV programs, such as "Fargo" and "Legion". Except that there may be one or two suspicious frame choices in some scenarios, he did quite well.

The flowing rhythm of the story is very good, and the effect is also very good-unlike the ending of Adeastra, which makes people feel hasty-and using short and fast flashbacks is an effective storytelling tool. Perhaps more importantly, the central figure is flawed, and these flaws are credible. Coke is a person full of * * *. Sadly, this rare and intense * * * eventually consumed her.

There aren't so many amazing photos in this movie. Maybe more earth scenes seen from space may be beautiful ... But at the same time, the short scenes we have and our desire for more reflect the feeling that Coca-Cola spends endless time on them.

Comment on Ad Astra: Brad Pitt watched the first trailers of Star Wars: Mandalorians and Star Trek: Picard, which are amazing space epics.
