At present, the oldest archaeological discovery is the "ground furnace" in Songze period. This is the kitchen where the ancients dug holes in the ground to keep out the wind and concentrate their firepower. In the ash pit as deep as 10 cm, you can also see the ash marks and cookware fragments left by cooking. A special kind of pottery named "Gui" was also unearthed in the kitchen stove. Different from the familiar pottery ding, Gui acts like a steamer, which shows that our ancestors began to use steam as a new energy source to cook food 5000 years ago. Experts said that "most of the archaeological discoveries in the late Songze period in the past were tombs, but the artifacts discovered this time let us know the daily diet of the ancients, which is unprecedented."

More than 10 animal bones were piled up at the scene. These are the jawbones of deer in Liangzhu site, and some fragments of Ding Tao were found at the site. Judging from the scale of deer bones and other artifacts, it is likely that a feast was held here more than 4000 years ago.
