1984 worked as a photographer in the film One and Eight, which is an epoch-making film in China's film history. With bold composition and unique lens design, he won the 1984 China film excellent photography award. It is listed as the first work of the "fifth generation" filmmakers, and it is better than before in form, content, guidance, photography and aesthetic feeling.

1985 won the Best Photography Award of the 5th China Golden Rooster Award, the Best Photography Award of the 7th Nantes International Film Festival, and the Oriental Kodak Excellent Production Technology Award of the 5th Hawaii International Film Festival for his film Yellow Land, and has since entered the ranks of first-line photographers.
