Historical evolution

In July 1951, Henan Province separated Gushi and Xixian counties and set up county-level offices. Huaibin was named after the Huaihe River. In August 1952, Huaibin County was officially established with the approval of the State Council.

In 1996, the Beijing-Kowloon Railway was fully connected, and Huaibin Station was completed and opened. At that time, it was under the jurisdiction of the Macheng Depot of the newly established Nanchang Railway Bureau.

In 2005, the Wuhan Railway Bureau was newly established. The Macheng depot of the Nanchang Railway Bureau was integrated into the Wuhan Railway Bureau. Huaibin Station was changed to the jurisdiction of the Macheng depot of the Wuhan Railway Bureau and is now a third-class station. .
