The end of human disqualification?

The ending of Disqualification on Earth is: the protagonist Ye Cang degenerates, chooses self-destruction, ends his own life and writes a suicide note.

Disqualification in the World begins with my feelings after seeing three photos of Ye Zang. There are three annotations in the middle, and three annotations correspond to the photos. They respectively introduce Ye Zang's experiences in childhood, adolescence and prime of life, and describe how Ye Zang gradually lost his qualifications.

In his works, Osamu Dazai cleverly hides his life and thoughts in the life experience of the protagonist Ye Zang, and through Ye Zang's monologue, he gets a glimpse of Osamu Dazai's inner world-"a life full of shame". In the same year that the work was published, Osamu Dazai committed suicide.

Creation background

In the sixth year of Showa, Osamu Dazai lived with the first generation, and then began to engage in the proletarian movement, so he moved several times. During this period, he found that his wife, whom he had always trusted, had an affair with others before he knew him, and his heart was greatly hit. So he went to Aomori police station and surrendered himself, ending his proletarian revolutionary career. In Showa 10, Osamu Dazai tried to hang himself in Liancang Mountain.

Showa 1 1 year1month, persuaded and coaxed by relatives and friends, she was admitted to a mental hospital. This entrance experience has become an unforgettable experience in his life, and it has also become the driving force of "Writing Disqualification on Earth".

Artistic feature

Human Disqualification adopts the first-person narrative, and the protagonist forms the whole article in the form of three "notes", which increases the sense of reality when reading. In order to keep a distance from the narrative of the novel, Osamu Dazai deliberately added a "super narrative layer", namely a "preface" and a "postscript", and also used the first person narrative.

Disqualification on Earth is also characterized by structural irony, that is, the plot of the novel presents "deviation" and "mutual opposition", especially in the characterization of Ye Cang in public.

This contradictory narrative has a strong mutual subversion, which requires readers to go beyond the single perspective of non-ironic narrative and constantly "falsify and re-recognize" the narrative object. The so-called falsification identification refers to changing the perspective of the same person or thing with the help of other people or things in different links of narrative, thus transforming plane understanding into three-dimensional understanding.
