Who is the author of "Cinderella"?

Cinderella author Marcia Brown was born on July 13, 1918 in New York, USA. She is the youngest of three sisters. She has wanted to be a picture book artist since she was a child. Her father, a pastor, once painted the kitchen wall black and used it as a blackboard, allowing her to doodle at will. After graduating from New York State Normal University, she first worked as a high school English teacher for three years, and then left her job to work in a public library in New York. She was only 25 years old.

During her six years as a librarian, she not only told stories to children every day, but also began to create picture books. In 1946, she published her debut novel "The Little Carousel". The book "Stone Soup" published the following year made her a blockbuster, and this book won her the first Caldecott Medal. After that, she created a miracle in the history of the Caldecott Awards. She won three gold medals and six silver medals in one go. They are "Cinderella" which won the gold medal in 1955, "Once Upon a Mouse..." which won the gold medal in 1962, "Shadow" which won the gold medal in 1983, and "Stone Soup" which won the silver medal in 1948 and the 1950 silver medal. "Henry the Fisherman", the 1951 silver medal "Dick Whittington and His Cat", the 1952 silver medal "Captain John's Cook", the 1953 silver medal "Puss in Boots", the 1954 "The Little Tin Soldier" won the 2016 Silver Award. She is the most famous picture book author in the United States and has been nominated twice for the International Hans Christian Andersen Award. She loved traveling throughout her life and traveled to Europe, Asia and Africa. But she definitely doesn't just walk by like a dragonfly. Every time she goes to a place, she will stay for a long time to experience and taste the local customs in detail. In 1985, at the age of 67, she studied Chinese ink painting at the Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts in Hangzhou.
