Guangzhou's "lowest-key" scenic spots are protected by the state and free to visit, which many tourists don't know.
This year's Spring Festival, Aunt Shanshan did not go out for a long trip as in previous years, and chose an honest "home" to spend the New Year at home. They all stay at home except going out for exercise and making necessary purchases in the morning. I don't go to visit relatives and friends, and I don't get together during the Spring Festival. I feel that I have more time. As a traveling self-media author, you can also travel in the days of "home": the body can't travel, but the mind can be on the road.
In these "home" days, Shanshan has been burying her head in sorting out photos of scenic spots she has been to this year. The process of sorting out is like revisiting a place of travel, and there is another gain: when you travel to a place, you will immediately share the customs you have seen, but in the process of sorting out photos, you will not only have a new understanding of scenic spots, but also have a comprehensive or updated understanding of a city or a field. In the following days, Sansan will share the arrangement of this time with you. First of all, share the theme: the witness of the "vicissitudes" of ancient Guangzhou.
Vicissitude is a word full of reverie, in which "vicissitudes" refers to the sea and "mulberry fields" generally refers to farmland. When the sea becomes farmland and farmland becomes the sea, it represents the great changes in the world. The word "vicissitudes" comes from Ge Hong's Biography of Immortals. Since the reception of Ma Gu in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, I have seen that the East China Sea is a mulberry field, and the water is shallower than in the past, which will be a bit half-time. Will it return to land?
Today's Guangzhou feels like an international metropolis: bustling, fashionable, tall buildings, charming, busy and so on. But can you imagine what Guangzhou was like in ancient times when the land with "Guangzhou" was not yet formed? The answer is: most parts of Guangzhou are still a blue ocean. A long time ago, there were many transgressions and regressions near the Pearl River Delta due to crustal movement and land-sea changes. Even thousands of years ago, most of Guangzhou was still a piece of Wang Yang. In the Song Dynasty, the gate of Guangzhou was also called "Little Sea". The city of Guangzhou has gradually moved away from the sea, so that many younger generations don't understand one thing: why the older generation called crossing the Pearl River "crossing the sea".
Before Guangzhou became land, a sea of Wang Yang experienced stormy waves, and then experienced "vicissitudes", gradually forming land, tribes and cottages, and began the history of building Guangzhou for more than 2,000 years. After vicissitudes of life, those ancient coastlines are far away from the sea, and many vegetation grows on the "cliffs" by the sea or in the sea. A few years later, they finally got lost in the wilderness. Today Shanshan will share with you the "cliff mountain" that witnessed the vicissitudes of Guangzhou: "the remains of the ancient coast of Qixinggang".
1963, "Qixinggang Ancient Coast Relics" was designated as the first batch of cultural relics protection units in Guangzhou, and fences were built for protection and pavilions were built to commemorate it. Later, it was recognized as a geological relic of the cliff landform and was protected by the highest level of national first-class protection. Before the discovery of the ancient coast site of Qixinggang, geographers generally regarded the "marine erosion site in the lower reaches of the Po River" 50 kilometers away from the Italian coast as the biggest milestone for the sea to retreat to the mainland. The discovery of the ancient coast site of Qixinggang in Guangzhou has broken through the statement that the maximum width of the ancient coastline in the world and today's coastline is 50 kilometers. Qixinggang ancient coast site is more than 0/00 kilometers away from the coast/kloc-,which is twice that of Italy. Therefore, geographers at home and abroad believe that the ancient sea relic of Qixinggang can be called a "world-class" and "national treasure-class" marine erosion relic, and it is the deepest ancient coastline discovered in mainland China so far, and is called "the world's first ancient coastal relic". Even so, it is free to visit, not to mention foreign tourists, even Guangzhou people don't know much about it. It must be said that this is the "lowest key" scenic spot in Guangzhou.
Shanshan had a hard time finding this place. In the middle of Haizhu in Guangzhou, there is a rolling hill with different names: Huagang, Niumiangang, Fenggang, Kenggang, Dagang, Ma Liugang and Baoyagang, which are collectively called Qixinggang, and the "ruins of ancient coast of Qixinggang" we are looking for is located in Niuyanggang of Qixinggang. Even those who have done their homework in advance will find it difficult to find this place when they come nearby. Navigation has been around the road, but you can't see the scenic spots. Asked a lot of passers-by, all shook their heads and said they didn't know. Fortunately, I finally found it. There is a turning path next to a bus stop, which reads "Xinjiao East Road Central Station". Turn along the bend, and the "Qixinggang Ancient Coast Relics" is on the northwest side of the intersection of Xinjiao South Road and South China Expressway.
When Shanshan came to Niumian Port, the "Guangzhou Qixinggang Ancient Coast Site Science and Technology Park" had been built here. In addition to the difficult location, at the same time, if there is no sign of the park name, even if you pass by every day, it is difficult to know that this place is "the world's first ancient coastal site", which is very easy to miss.
Miss Shanshan once saw the ancient coast site of Qixinggang in detail in the "Guangzhou Qixinggang Ancient Coast Site Science and Technology Park", and saw that the cliff stone on the coast was about two meters high, with a protruding forehead and a dark brown color, and a sea hole about half a meter deep was formed under the cliff. The sea erosion platform in front of the cave is slightly inclined, with a width of six or seven meters. The cliff is almost covered with moss and plants. At that time, Miss Shanshan took a deep breath at the scene to see if she could smell the "sea". But after such a long time, the salty smell of the sea in the air has long since disappeared. Looking outside the park, it has been surrounded by buildings and viaducts.
If we only evaluate the scenic spot "Qixinggang Ancient Coast Site" from the perspective of scenery, there is really no beautiful scenery, but this scenic spot has "important and special" value. Guangzhou Qixinggang ancient coastal site is not only the longest known ancient coastal site in the world (up to 100 km), but also the physical evidence of the changes in Guangzhou and the Pearl River Delta, which is of great scientific significance for studying the natural environment changes in the Pearl River Delta.
The ancient coastal site, also known as the "fossil coast", is a thrilling landscape, because it took millions of years to form under the impact of waves. As early as five or six thousand years ago, Guangzhou was mostly a sea of Wang Yang. Under the perennial erosion of wind and waves, hard sandstone was eroded into such deep and wide platforms and caves, and the ancient coast site of Qixinggang came from this, forming Cretaceous sandstone that was gradually eroded into sea caves and platforms. 1One day in May, 937, the geographer Professor Wu Shangshi came to Niumian Mountain and discovered Niumian Mountain, a marine erosion relic composed of sea cliffs, sea caves and sea platforms. Now, there is a statue and introduction of Wu Shangshi in Guangzhou Qixinggang Ancient Coast Site Science Park.
Guangzhou, as a "vicissitudes" city, in fact, when the sea receded, in addition to the remains of the ancient coast of Qixinggang, many sea cliffs were left behind. At present, Shanshan has found three such places in Guangzhou this year, and each place is full of stories. Tomorrow, Shanshan will continue to show you another witness of Guangzhou's "vicissitudes"? Location: Please always pay attention.
So, do you know what Guangzhou was like in ancient times? Have you ever thought that Guangzhou used to be a sea? Do you know that there is a "lowest key" scenic spot in Guangzhou called "Qixinggang Ancient Coast Ruins"? Do you know the scenic spots protected at the national level? If there is no scenery, but it is full of scientific value, are you interested in seeing it? Welcome everyone to leave a message to share!
