Types and forms of film cassettes
There are two types of cassettes: single-chamber type and double-chamber type. Most are made of plastic, and a few are made of metal such as brass. Disposable plastic double-chamber cassettes can only be used once and cannot be reused: Kodak model 110, Rollei model 126.
Reusable plastic single-cavity cassette is used for: TESSINA 35, TESSINA 35L; Rollei 16, Edisa 16, Edisa 16M, Edisa 16MB, Franka16, Alka16.
Reusable plastic double-chamber cassette Minolta QT, Minos 8x11 type.
Reusable brass double-chamber cassette: Minos 8x11 type.

35mm Camera Film Cassette:
Disposable Metal Single Chamber Cassette: Used for Most 35mm film cannot be opened or reused.
Reusable metal single-chamber cassette: used for 35mm film before 1970. It can be opened, so it can be reused and discarded later. Today, a few photographic equipment manufacturers still sell reusable metal single-chamber cassettes without original film, allowing photographers to cut long-loaded film into 24- and 36-frame films.
Reusable plastic single-chamber cassette: used by photographers to cut long-loaded film. Reusable brass single-chamber valve cassettes: Leica screw-card cameras, early Leica M cameras, and early Contax cameras have reusable brass single-chamber valve cassettes; Leica valve cassettes cannot be used with Contax cameras, and Contax valve cassettes cannot For Leica cameras.

Large cameras, glass plates, film cassettes. Made of wood or metal, flat rectangular, single-sided and double-sided. Removable film cassette for large cameras, using 120 film, with 6x4.5, 6x9, 6x12 cm frames.
In the era of film cameras, film, as a necessity for photography at that time, also developed with the development of photographic equipment. And maybe you don’t know that the earliest film did not have an outer cassette, but only a reel.
The reel in the film cassette has a shaft core that can rotate in the unwinding direction. The leader of the film rolled on the shaft core is pushed out of the box. When the film is rotated in the tight winding direction, the leader is withdrawn into the box. A pair of protruding disks are placed at both ends of the film, and there are skirts to limit the radial expansion of the film. The protruding disk has a central hole for the shaft core to pass through, and generally rotates separately with the shaft core. The invention has a rotatable hook fixed on the shaft core. When the shaft core is initially rotated relative to the protruding disk in the unwinding direction, the hook is connected to at least one protruding disk. When it is rotated again, it rotates simultaneously with the shaft core, thereby improving the The ability to push the lead out of the cassette. When the roll is pressed and rotated, the hook and the protruding disk are separated. When the roll is tightened again, the protruding disk and the shaft core rotate respectively, basically ensuring that the leader can be re-rolled within the skirt.
