Xishuangbanna City is located at the intersection of Jinghong City, Xuanwei Avenue and Monroe Avenue. It is an autonomous prefecture and prefecture-level administrative region under the jurisdiction of Yunnan Province, adjacent to Thailand and Viet Nam, and the only tropical rain forest nature reserve in China.

Xishuangbanna, the best-preserved tropical ecosystem in China, is known as the "plant kingdom", "animal kingdom", "biological gene bank" and "a jade in the crown of the plant kingdom", and it is the only tropical rain forest nature reserve in China.

It is a national ecological demonstration zone, a national scenic spot, a member of the United Nations biodiversity conservation circle, and an observation point for the sustainable development of tourism of the United Nations World Tourism Organization. Plant species account for 1/6 of the country, animal species account for 1/4 of the country, and the forest coverage rate is 80.8%.

Jinghong city is located in the southwest border of the motherland and is an oasis on the tropic of cancer. Located in the south of Yunnan Province, in the middle of Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, 560 kilometers away from Kunming, the provincial capital, it is the political, economic and cultural center of the whole state. It is located at100 25' ~101'east longitude and 2127' ~ 22 36' north latitude, with a land area of 6867 square kilometers.

It borders Jiangcheng County and Mengla County in the east, Menghai County and Lancang County in the west, Pu 'er City in the north and Myanmar, Laos and Thailand in the south. The border line is 1 12.39 km long. The horizontal distance from east to west is 98km, and the vertical distance from north to south is112km. It is high in the north and low in the south, and the mountains in the territory mostly run from northwest to southeast. To the north is the tail tip of Wuliang Mountain, including Boluo Mountain, Sanda Mountain, Guanping Mountain, Mancha Mountain and Keno Mountain.

There are residual veins of Nushan Mountain in the west, including Ma 'an Mountain, Lunan Mountain, Guangsanbian Mountain and Mengsong West Mountain. There are Jinghong Dam, Menglong Dam, Olive Dam, Mengyang Dam, Mengkuan Dam, Puwen Dam, Jingne Dam, Mengban Dam, Mengwang Dam, Mengsong Dam, etc. 10 dams embedded between winding mountains and rushing rivers, which are called "Mountain Country Plain".

The larger dam is Menglong Dam, with an area of 79 square kilometers; Jinghong Dam, covering an area of 77 square kilometers; Olive dam, covering an area of 65 square kilometers. The highest point is Nanle jiaomei, the main peak of Lunan Mountain in the west, with an altitude of 2 196.6 meters, and the lowest point is at the intersection of Na 'a River and Lancang River in the southeast, with an altitude of 485 meters and an altitude of 552.7 meters in the urban area.

Jinghong city lies between Lancang River and Liusha River. Lancang River crosses from north to south, Xiao Mo Highway crosses from east to south, and Luo Kun Highway crosses from east to west. There are transportation hubs such as Jinghong Port (national port) and Xishuangbanna Airport. Xishuangbanna Airport is an international airport located in the southwest of suburban city, which has opened 45 domestic direct flights and 3 international flights. At the same time, the Kunming International Corridor passes through the territory, and the construction of Yumo Railway is accelerating.

Jinghong river network is densely covered with ravines. * * There are 7 1 rivers in China, belonging to the Lancang River system. The Lancang River originates from the northern foot of Tanggula Mountain in Qinghai Plateau, flows into Yunnan from eastern Tibet, flows through cities such as Diqing, Nujiang, Dali, Baoshan, Lincang and Pu 'er, enters Jinghong from the small olive dam in Pu 'er City, and flows out from the southeast of the city. The urban flow is 158km. Lancang River flows through Jinghong, known as "Jiulong River" in history, and there is Mekong River outside.
