How to tell the difference between German iris and iris?

First, the varieties are different.

Iris germanica is a kind of iris, belonging to the same family and genus, so it looks very similar, but it is slightly different in form because of the differences in varieties, so it can be distinguished by careful discrimination. At the same time, iris germanica is divided into several varieties.

Iris includes the former, in addition, there are small iris and white iris. Different shapes and varieties of flowers are common.

Second, the leaves are different.

Iris germanica leaves are relatively wide, about 2-4 cm wide, but the difference is not obvious. We need to judge by overlapping two kinds of leaves.

Iris leaves are not as wide as the former, about 1.5-3.5 cm wide, and the top is tapered.

Third, flowers are different.

The stem of Iris germanica is relatively high, about 60- 100 cm high, and there will be 1-3 lateral branches at the top. Generally, when flowers don't bloom, they will get together and there will be hair on the petals.

The stem of iris is short, about 20-40 cm high, and there will be 1-2 short side branches at the top. Its flowers are bigger and droop slightly.
