Reflections after watching "Half the Sky"

On the occasion of the 2018 Second Pingyao International Film Festival, I had the honor to meet with the cadres of the Plenary Session of the Shanxi Provincial Women’s Federation and more than 100 women representatives from all walks of life at the city, county, township and village levels of the Jinzhong Women’s Federation. I watched the movie "Half the Sky" co-produced by the BRICS countries at the Pingyao Film Palace. It was refreshing and deeply touching.

"Half the Sky" is the second BRICS cooperation film. It is a feature film composed of five short films, with the theme of "Contemporary Women's Family and Society". It is supervised by Chinese director Jia Zhangke and brings together people from Filmed by five female directors from the BRICS countries, it is close to the public and life, and has attracted a lot of attention.

The film is not only an excellent work that organically integrates ideological, artistic and ornamental qualities, but also a vivid teaching material for understanding women, listening to women, and paying attention to the realization of women's self-worth. I deeply realize that women are great, and being a Chinese woman is even more blessed. I also deeply felt the power of China. The producer of the BRICS cooperation film is the famous Chinese director Jia Zhangke. It is a wonderful trip of different cultures. In 90 minutes, you can experience the talents of female directors from different countries. and emotional expressions. The BRICS spirit of openness, inclusiveness, cooperation and win-win is integrated with the construction concept of "one belt and one road" of free trade, free construction and free sharing.

At the same time, I also feel very proud to be a Pingyao native, being able to see international film festivals and experience the cultural atmosphere from all over the world right at my doorstep. Since Pingyao Ancient City was successfully applied for World Heritage in 1997, it has continued to innovate, making use of Pingyao Ancient City's high-quality tourism resources and combining its own actual conditions, and has successfully held 18 Pingyao International Photography Exhibitions. Now Pingyao International Film Exhibition and Pingyao International Sculpture Exhibition have settled in Pingyao. , constantly injecting new vitality into the ancient city of Pingyao. The Pingyao International Film Festival has become another business card for Shanxi to build a strong cultural and tourism province and promote Chinese culture to go global. Today's Pingyao is like a fashionable youth glowing with youthful vitality, showing Shanxi's style on the world stage, making Shanxi culture more colorful and confident.

As a grassroots women worker, I want to base myself on my position, work actively, take the initiative, listen more to the voices of women, care for and serve women from multiple angles, and work for women in the county. Let’s do our little bit to contribute to the construction of a beautiful ancient city, a well-off Pingyao, and an international tourist city! I sincerely hope that the Pingyao International Film Festival will be better and better! Pingyao’s tomorrow will be even better!
