Yuan Xuejun’s resume

Born in Chengdu, Sichuan Province in 1950

In 1957, when he was in primary school, he became interested in art and began to study art by himself.

In 1966, after graduating from middle school, he encountered the Cultural Revolution and practiced art, calligraphy, painting and musical instruments at home.

In 1969, as an educated youth, he went to the countryside to work in Xinjin County, Sichuan Province.

In 1970, he was drafted into the army and served as a soldier in a regiment of the Beijing Military Region.

In 1971, he was transferred to the division's literary and art propaganda team as a dancer.

In 1973, he worked as a cultural officer in the political office of a certain regiment and began to engage in photo reporting.

In 1978, he was transferred to the Political Department of the Training Department of the People's Liberation Army Logistics Institute in Beijing as a cultural officer and engaged in amateur photography and reporting.

In 1981, he served as the art photography editor of "Logistics Academic" magazine.

In 1983, he studied in the photography class of the first branch of Renmin University of China.

In 1986, he was transferred to the People's Liberation Army Pictorial Agency as a photojournalist.

In 1990, he spent 7 months driving across 7 provinces and autonomous regions in western China to complete a series of reports covering the 50,000-mile journey to the west.

In 2000, the special album "Pingyao Ancient City" was published.
