This exhibition is also a continuation of Guan Shanyue Art Museum's "Guan Shanyue and China Art Research in the 20th Century". During War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, Guan

Lingnan painters, represented by Shanyue, uphold the ideal of "saving the country through art". They face life directly, pay attention to reality, directly present the war with paintings, and create a large number of themed works that express the war of resistance, which also makes artistic creation "thematic".

The prominent significance opened the transformation of China's aesthetic taste and value system of fine arts after 1930s, and established the realistic direction of China's fine arts.

1938 10, Guangzhou fell, and he took refuge in Macao with his colleague, the teacher of Chunshui Painting Academy. /kloc-in October, Guan Shanyue held his first solo exhibition in Macau. It is this "war of resistance"

The theme exhibition opened the prologue of Guan Shanyue's long artistic career and laid the keynote of "Art for Society". We can see that this "Anti-Japanese War Painting" is symbolic in his personal artistic path.

In the exhibition, Guan Shanyue described the disaster brought to the people of China by the Japanese war of aggression against China in the form of large-scale paintings, among which "Withdrawing from the market" (long scroll), "Seeing from Sanzao Island" and "Robbing fishermen" were all witnessed by Guan Shanyue.

A work filled with indignation. Although these works drawn with traditional Chinese painting materials do not completely conform to the rules and regulations of traditional painting, their grand narrative structure and visual impact of line strokes are real.

Reproduced a shocking reality scene.

Shortly after the Macao Art Exhibition, Guan Shanyue went to Sichuan via northern Guangdong and Guilin, and then arrived in Dunhuang along the Hexi Corridor, sketching along the way, and spent that hard time copying murals in Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes and his wife Li Xiaoping by candlelight. "plug

"Camel Bell Outside" and "Camel Sleeps Late" are the representative works of this period. The significance of these works lies in that Guan Shanyue got rid of the traditional pen and ink interest of Jiangnan water town or garden scenery which belongs to the plain since Yuan and Ming Dynasties, and paid attention to it on the basis of sketching.

Established a connection with nature. In these works, I can't see the leisure, lightness and introversion in the tradition of literati painting. The desolate and magnificent mountains and rivers and strange and powerful lines have become the excitement of Guan Shanyue's visual experience, which he yearns for.

The platform scale can withstand the vast desert in northwest China and the swift rivers, giving Chinese paintings with ink and wash materials stronger visual tension.

During the Anti-Japanese War, due to the change of geopolitical space and the transfer of China's political center, the northwest and southwest regained the opportunity to enter the vision of China painters after the Northern Song Dynasty. It can even be said that those who expanded in the 20th century.

China painters who made great contributions to the expressive space and language expression of Chinese painting mostly left their clear footprints in the northwest and southwest of this period. Guan Shanyue is one of the most outstanding, and he has many works.

One of the world artists.

This exhibition is divided into three parts, showing Guan Shanyue's anti-Japanese war thoughts and artistic ideas in an all-round way:

First, the war is flying? Including Seen from the Outside of Sanzao Island, After the Enemy Escaped, The House of Guerrillas, The End of the Invaders, etc., which were extremely rare in the art world at that time and had a special historical position in the art history of the Anti-Japanese War. On the one hand, it is influenced by the high-tech concept of Chinese painting, on the other hand, it also benefits from the breakthrough in techniques.

Second, the suffering of the people? Including "Sketch of Professor's Life Today" and "Zhongshan Refugees", the Anti-Japanese War caused the largest population migration in China's modern history. Guan Shanyue inherited the realistic humanistic care and described the life of ordinary people under the war, including professors, masons, refugees and refugees.

Third, the home front? Including "Camel Bell beyond the Great Wall" and "Camel auspicious night trip", Guan Shanyue traveled to the southwest because of the war and created a number of works depicting the local conditions and customs in the southwest, which is the spiritual symbol of the people in the rear area actively producing and supporting the war of resistance. At the same time, "Guan Shanyue" is also a landscape biography with solid national cohesion.

In addition to this exhibition, the Guan Shanyue Art Museum also exhibited a poster: "We are together-commemorating the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese people's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the world anti-fascist war? The video exhibition (Hall C and Hall C on the first floor) and the photo exhibition of visiting the battlefield of the Anti-Japanese War (Hall A and Hall B on the first floor), together with the exhibition of Guan Shanyue's anti-Japanese war theme works commemorating the 70th anniversary of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression's victory, are cut in from different angles to cheer for the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Anti-Japanese War.
