What is a documentary?

Documentary refers to a film form that shows real life and social history by recording, observing, describing and presenting real things, events, people, social groups and cultural status quo. It is a form that based on image data, the image or story of a certain person is photographed in a relatively simple way and presented to the audience, which deepens the cognition and understanding of things and thus conveys information such as history, culture and knowledge. Documentaries usually include interviews, live shooting and documentaries, which can be used for entertainment, education and publicity, and also have high artistic value. The common types of documentaries include nature documentaries, historical documentaries, humanities documentaries and social documentaries.
