What is medical FFA?

FFA refers to 1, fundus fluorescein angiography. Fluorescein fundus angiography (FFA) is an ophthalmologic examination technique that rose in 1960s. Fluorescein sodium was used as imaging agent and injected rapidly into forearm vein. When sodium fluorescein enters the fundus blood vessels with the blood flow, the fundus camera without color filter is used to continuously photograph the fluorescence form emitted by the excitation light during the dye circulation outside the fundus blood vessels, so as to observe the dynamic circulation of the retina, understand the changes of the microstructure and microcirculation of the fundus blood vessels, and provide basis for the pathogenesis, diagnosis, medical obstacles and prognosis evaluation of various fundus diseases.
